The paper discusses the connection between parenting style and the scope of the conflict between parental and business roles. For a parenting style, we used the concept of Dianne Baumrind (1966/2002), who defined three basic types of a parent-child relationship: authoritarian, authoritative and permissive. The problem of conflict is accessed through the theory of work-family conflict, the Greenhaus and Beutell model (Greenhaus and Beutell, 1985), according to which the impact of work on a family consists of three sub-dimensions: time-based conflict, strain-based conflict, and behaviour-based conflict. The survey involved 204 respondents – employed parents with at least one child aged 3 to 16 years. The results of the research have shown that the authoritarian and the permissive parenting style is accompanied by a more obvious conflict of parental and business roles, while the positive effect of employment is linked to the authoritative parenting style. Implications of the obtained findings show that business and family responsibilities enable parents to participate in multiple roles, that can be used to promote their growth and development and better functioning in the parental role.
UvodKorporativno upravljanje, kao skup mehanizama kojima se jedna korporacija vodi, raste i razvija na trzistu, od fundamentalnog je znacaja za razvijene zemlje sveta (Sjedinjene Arnericke Drzave -SAD, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo -UK, Nemacka, Kanada, Francuska i Japan).Iako su se izdiferencirala dva prepoznatljiva sistema upravljanja korporacijom, jednomodni i dvomodni, postavljaju se pitanja: koji od njih je efikasniji, pravicniji i za koji se moze reci da predstavlja praksu dobrog korporativnog upravljanja? Kako su se zemlje u tranziciji snasle u ovom polju ekonomije?Takode, za preduzeca su veoma bitni i investitori, investicije i investiranje, koji potpomazu razvoj iste i sirenje na nova trzista, pa korporacije moraju prvenstveno da uspostave ravnotezu na relaciji vlasnistvo vs kontrola vs upravljanje i rese tzv. agencijski problem, odnosno da ne dozvole da se on negativno odrazi na poslovanje i odnose unutar firrne.Otuda, smo zaintrigirani da se vise posvetimo korporativnom upravljanju i da pokusamo da sagledamo sa cirne se sve susrecu preduzeca tokom obavljanja svoje poslovne aktivnosti. U skladu sa tim, rad promovise istorijski razvoj korporativnog upravljanja u smislu zakonske regulative, a potom prikazuje modele vodenja korporacije, stanje korporativnog upravljanja u zemljama u tranziciji i izazove i probleme sa kojima se kompanije srecu u svom poslovanju: znacaj investicija i investiranja za vodenje preduzeca, agencijski problem i korupcija. The paper analyzes the phenomenon of world music and the preferences of music students from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš for this musical genre in the context of stimulating intercultural education. The research based on the descriptive method was conducted with the intention to obtain answers to questions about whether music students have knowledge/understanding of/for interculturality, to examine their attitudes towards different cultures, and whether they are ready to act against racial/cultural differences and prejudices. The results of this research were completed with the results of a survey, in which students evaluated selected examples of world music. This musical genre was chosen because in our opinion music is perceived not only as an autonomous artistic practice, but also as a representation of a particular culture, collective, and/or ethnic group. On the basis of the results, we tried to determine the students' reactions to the musical characteristics of the closer and distant cultural areas as well as their willingness to accept musical, linguistic and cultural differences in the context of the still dominant presence of the West European musical art in the process of academic education.
This paper discusses a basic construct in the study of contemporary fatherhood – father involvement, focusing on different methodological approaches to studying father involvement in the upbringing of children. The paper emphasizes the great importance of father’s involvement, analyzed effects and causes of (non)involvement. Various aspects of paternity research examined in numerous studies were selected and analyzed in order to suggest a new theoretical and methodological support, inspiration, as well as the directions for further research. The obtained results of the research proved that a variety of methodological approaches could be devised only by understanding the idea of the multidimensionality of the construct of father involvement in the upbringing of children. Some of the most popular quantitative and qualitative approaches and their techniques were highlighted and described in more detail. The paper highlights the limitations of both approaches, stating that a systemic perspective in understanding and in a methodological approach to measuring the involvement of fathers could be perceived as the solution. The data presented in the paper were based on the scientific knowledge. Namely, research methods may have several modalities, comprising a number of research techniques. The presented paper uses the method of theoretical analysis based on literature analysis of various theoretical and empirical findings of the involvement of fathers in the upbringing of children.
