Teachers must be relevant in their teaching style to respond effectively to the challenges brought about by environmental changes. This study measured how well the teachers could utilize various styles and methods to create meaningful teaching-learning experiences. This study determined the gap between the full use of styles, methods, and the current practices in the university in Cebu City to bridge the current practices with what is perceived to be ideal. The research design made use of the quantitative method. Using a stratified sampling technique, the data were collected from 2,683 respondents through questionnaires for teaching styles and teaching performance. The respondents came in three clusters: namely, teachers, students, and administrators in six colleges. Based on the findings, the various teaching styles ranged from being practiced often to being always practiced, and their teaching performance ranged from very good to excellent. A seminar-workshop was proposed to improve the areas of teaching styles and teaching performance with the lowest ratings. In the seminar, teachers will be introduced to the core principles related to the topics and will engage in activities designed for principle integration in actual classroom situations. Furthermore, periodic 360-degree performance evaluations shall be conducted to ensure adherence and compliance with the agreed core principles.
Public school teachers are role models who mold students into better citizens, and teachers are regarded as the epitome of education and career success. Delivering financial education will be the pinnacle of absurdity if teachers do not practice personal financial management. This study investigated public school teachers' knowledge and practice of personal financial management and entrepreneurial competencies. The study employed the descriptive-correlational method, administered to 229 selected teachers in the Cebu City Division. The main instrument, which consists of three components, was adopted and modified. The data were collected, arranged, tabulated, and interpreted using a statistical technique like weighted mean and Pearson r Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The study revealed that public school teachers were moderately knowledgeable and practiced personal financial management. Also, they moderately manifested all the entrepreneurial competencies identified in the study. Using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, the level of knowledge and practice of personal financial management are significantly correlated. As a result, it was concluded that public school teachers need to enhance their knowledge and practice of personal financial management, especially knowledge and practice of investing, and the other areas of entrepreneurial competencies uncovered as weak. Subsequently, the principal researcher crafted a comprehensive action plan to help public school teachers enrich their knowledge and practice of personal financial management and entrepreneurial competencies, scaffolding their financial resilience and gently nudging them to entrepreneurial ventures.
The study looked into the various significant financial challenges faced by business administration students of one of Dumaguete City's state colleges. Corollary to this objective, their current financial practices were also examined. Information from 308 respondents was gathered using a quantitative research method using Cochran’s approach and convenience sampling technique was used in the study. A self-administered questionnaire was used. And several published research articles influenced the development of the instrument. The data was evaluated using weighted mean and ranking. The findings revealed that the two most common financial challenges students had grappled with throughout their moderately difficult college years were obtaining a part-time job to supplement their parent-financed school allowance and not being able to purchase internet data to attend online classes. One of the students' major financial practices is to save as much money as possible, markedly considered as highly practiced in the study. Business administration students were moderately challenged by the recognized elements of financial challenges while being slightly practiced as described under Financial Challenges. Students are good at saving money and not buying things (that may pose a financial risk), in addition to working part-time. Further, the study suggested that the school administration conceive and implement a comprehensive financial education, elevate the level of students’ financial quotient by embedding financial courses in the curricula of programs, and consistently provide a series of seminars and workshops on the subject. Conducting pre-program and mid-program surveys may also determine the effectiveness of the program.
The paper aimed to examine rank-and-file employees’ organizational commitment and the effectiveness of a holding company by assessing the level of agreement of the dimensions and variables. A quantitative technique engaging a descriptive research method was used in the study. The study applied Slovin’s formula, with 92 rank-and-file employees responding, and the data collected were analyzed using weighted mean and descriptive equivalents. The findings revealed that normative commitment has the most dominant dimensions perceived by the rank-and-file employees constituting the overall mean of organizational commitment with a descriptive match of ‘agree.’ Additionally, teamwork and direct manager gained the top two highest average weighted mean with a descriptive equivalent of 'agree,' resulting in the core variables that constitute organizational effectiveness. The researchers concluded that normative commitment that has had the most direct impact on the holding company’s organizational commitment had stimulated teamwork and a leadership style that has operated as a cultural scaffold for building strong competitive advantage and effectiveness. Over and above that, the study suggested that nurturing and sustaining activities that will bring to light the employees’ shared vision and goals aligned with the organization will help buoy the level of the organization's moderate level into a high level of organizational commitment and effectiveness.
