The aims of this activity are 1) to introduce and to apply the 5R principles to handle the household waste, 2) to introduce and to apply composting method of the organic household waste in Takakura Bin, 3) to introduce and to apply the producing method of recycled paper, and 4) to evaluate the technology which introduced and applied. The participants are 11 housewives. The activity methods are extention and practicing (learning by doing). All of participants are exited. The results of evaluation analysis show that 78,41 % said that the technology which introduced and applied are very good and 21,59 % participants said that the technology are good.
This activity is carried out in Pantai Bajak Village, Teluk Segara, City of Bengkulu, with consideration the PKK organization is the most active in Teluk Segara. The target audience of this activity is the housewives who become member of PKK, in the hope that applied science and technology can be introduced particularly to housewives and generally to society. 14 audiences present and are excited to follow every stage of the activity. Activities include outreach and direct practice with methods of Learning by doing to overcome household trash. Composted organic waste has been made by the Takakura Magic Basket, and plastic waste is recycled into bags and aprons creations. The results of an evaluation of the apllied technology shows that most participants strongly agreed to provide an assessment of all aspects of the application of introduced technology, namely the technical aspects of production (66.67%), economic aspects (73.81%), in terms of aspects of innovation (73.81%) and aspects of behavioral change (82.14%). Thus the most likely introduced technology will be applied by the target audience. PENDAHULUAN Sampah semakin menjadi permasalahan di berbagai kalangan, baik dari tingkatan rumah tangga sampai skala wilayah atau daerah maupun dunia. Permasalahan yang ditimbulkan begitu luas, mulai dari masalah kebersihan, kesehatan, polusi hingga banjir. Permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut timbul karena sampah dibuang sembarangan. Padahal sampah dapat dengan mudah dikelola dari rumah kita sendiri (Wahyuningsih, 2013). Apriadji (2000) mendefinisikan sampah sebagai bahan padat sisa proses industri atau hasil sampingan dari kegiatan rumah tangga. Sampah dapat digolongkan menjadi: (a) Sampah Lapuk (Garbage) atau Sampah Organik, yaitu sisa-sisa pengolahan atau makanan dari rumah tangga atau hasil sampingan kegiatan pasar, bahan makanan seperti sayur mayor. Contohnya: sisa potongan sayuran, sisa makanan, daun pembungkus, kulit buah, dan lain-lain. (b) Sampah Tak Lapuk dan Tak Mudah Lapuk (Rubbish) atau Sampah Anorganik, yaitu sampah yang tidak mudah lapuk secara alami bahkan memerlukan waktu bertahun-tahun.
