Safety and health In building planning must be considered during the building service period. The research objective is the application of Safety Building Index (BSI) in elementary school building planning. The factors of previous research were six factors, and the authors assessed Seven, namely architectural factors, building services, the external environment, operational and maintenance, administration and management of building maintenance. The research method was carried out by distributing questionnaires then distributed to construction practitioners such as architects, engineers, surveyors, contractors, consultants and developers. After completing the questionnaire, form to carry out the analysis with the SPSS program. The results of statistical analysis reveal the highest level of influence of each building factor on building planning. The research findings are the influence of each of the factors reviewed and which factors are dominant. The most dominant factors that must be considered by planners in designing elementary school buildings so that the Building Safety index can be applied in elementary schools in West Sumatra Padang.
One part of the form of public capital that is collected into investments made by the government is infrastructure. Several types of infrastructure are roads, bridges, irrigation, and others to support economic activities. It can be seen that there is still a slowdown in the implementation of infrastructure development in Indonesia, which is marked by the lack of quality and quantity of infrastructure. Infrastructure work is part of the responsibilities of the construction industry players, which are very dynamic with various threats to be faced. In practice, every construction project contains risks, unless the owner can transfer it to another party. This study aims to identify critical risks that occur in infrastructure development projects, especially roads in West Sumatra which have an impact on cost overruns in their implementation. This research uses literature study, data collection, and questionnaires which are analyzed using quantitative statistical analysis. The findings in this study are the cost overrun factors that occur in the implementation of road projects in West Sumatra which consist of 12 (twelve) critical risk factors. The highest of the twelve delay factors is the lack of experience of contractors who cannot manage a project properly.
In visual observations focused on emergency service facilities in several building locations, it was found that several emergency service facilities were not available. In addition, the facility also does not meet the provisions so it is categorized in an unsafe condition. From these conditions, it is necessary to know the safety factor for the comfort and security of the building. This study aims to determine the safety factor and several other factors that affect safety in buildings. It is necessary to determine the critical factors that have a very high influence and, the strategies needed in planning, construction, and operations. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods with SPSS and Smart PLS tools. A total of 20 questionnaires were given to respondents to get their opinion on the critical factors needed. The purpose of this research is to increase the knowledge base, especially in the field of developing school building safety standards in West Sumatra - Indonesia. The findings of this study are in the form of technical operation & maintenance factors that are influenced by systematic information systems and programs. In addition, safety factors are strongly influenced by building services, external environment, and operational & technical maintenance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
