The objectives of this research are to analyze the types of errors which students made in writing degrees of comparison and to find out the sources of the errors. This research is a mixed-method research, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods within a single research project. Using cluster sampling, 25 third grade students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru were chosen as the sample of this research. The instruments used to get the data are written tests and semi-structured interviews. The procedure of error analysis was used to analyse the data, which are process of identification, description, explanation, and evaluation of errors. Based on the process of identification and description, it was found that students committed 365 errors that were classified into four types of error: misformation (60,27%), omission (26,58%), addition (6,85%), and misordering (6,30%). This study also revealed that the sources of the errors are: intralingual transfer (61,39%), communication strategy (17,82%), interlingual transfer (14,85%), and context of learning (5,94%). Furthermore, the errors committed by students were reconstructed into the correct form as the evaluation. Therefore, several recommendations were given to the students such as trying to explore more learning sources like grammar books, English courses, or the internet to expand their knowledge of English grammar and to develop their writing ability. In line with that, it’s important for teachers to adopt innovative methods of teaching with detailed explanations to encourage students in learning, especially in writing degrees of comparison, to prevent the errors that occur in the future.
This study aims to capture students’ profiles in terms of using video-teleconferencing (VTC) applications and to identify students’ perspectives on using the video-teleconference applications as a platform for English teaching and learning during the pandemic in the English department in Universitas Riau. This mixed-method study collected data from semi-structured interviews and an online questionnaire. The entire sophomores of the English Study Program of Riau University (n=39 students) were taken as the samples of the research. An analysis model from Miles & Huberman (2007) was used as the method to analyze the collected data. The results show that the majority (56.4 %) of the students used a mobile phone as a learning device and 59% of them relied on their own internet data for learning. The students had both positive and negative perspectives on the VTC applications. Most students thought the VTC-based learning was efficient for them. However, they reported some problems such as an unsupportive learning environment, lack of equipment, and unreliable internet connections. These problems imply that universities should provide more learning facilities for students to make online learning more effective.
Penelitian ini membahas tentang gerakan Khairuddin Barbarossa di lautan yang telah menarik simpati dari beberapa kalangan, sehingga memunculkan perbedaan pandangan terhadap gerakannya. Aksi balas dendamnya di lautan menciptakan stigma negatif dan diklaim sebagai bajak laut. Aliansi Khairuddin Barbarossa dengan kepemerintahan Turki Utsmani sebagai bentuk kontradiksi yang akan menjawab stigma dari Barat. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa gerakan Khairuddin Barbarossa berawal dari motif balas dendam, sehingga pandangan Barat mengeklaim gerakannya sebagai tindakan bajak laut yang terlepas dari wewenang secara resmi dari pemerintah atau kerajaan. Berbeda dengan pandang Islam mengatakan bahwa gerakan Khairuddin Barbarossa disebut sebagai jihad bahari yang berarti serangkaian serangan yang dilakukan orang Islam dalam melawan penindasan dan penjarahan yang dilakukan oleh Kristen Spanyol. Pandangan Islam didasari atas aliansi yang dilakukan Khairuddin Barbarossa dengan Turki Ustmani pada masa pemerintahan Sultan Salim I, sehingga gerakannya di lautan secara resmi telah memiliki wewenang.
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Perkawinan yang tidak dicatatkan mengakibatkan banyak anak yang tidak tercatat di catatan sipil. Imbasnya anak tidak memiliki indentitas karena UU No. 23 Tahun 2006 tentang Administrasi Kependudukan mensyaratkan pengajuan akta kelahiran harus disertai dokumen perkawinan dari negara.. Anak adalah harta dunia yang sekaligus juga merupakan rahmat dan cobaan dari Allah SWT. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian metode penelitian library research atau penelitian kepustakaan. Mengenai penelitian semacam ini lazimnya juga disebut “Legal Research” atau “Legal Research Instruction”. Adapun kesimpulan yang didapatkan yaitu Putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi tersebut mengaburkan ketentuan-ketentuan mengenai anak luar kawin/anak zina, baik yang terdapat di dalam UU No. 1/1974 maupun KHI. Penyadaran kepada masyarakat akan pentingnya keluarga sebagai dasar yang kuat dari suatu bangsa, karena masih belum adanya ketegasan dari pemerintah selaku pihak yang berwenang apakah akan melegalkan atau melarang pernikahan secara siri atau di bawah tangan. Serta saran yang penulis berikan adalah Anak sebagai generasi bangsa haruslah dilindungi hak-haknya
The aim of this research is to 1) know the management of extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Hilir Seberang; 2) know the innovation extracurricular activities in the development of character in students of SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Hilir Seberang; 3) know the shape of the character development of students in extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Hilir Seberang. This type of research in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach using observations, interviews, and documentation. The result of this research shows that extracurricular management and extracurricular development at SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Hilir Seberang can achieve goals through planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring. Self-development and innovation activities carried out through these extracurricular can impact the development of the character of students, such as confidence, discipline, responsibility, hard work, self-reliance, empathy, better academic abilities, better educational satisfaction, and higher self-concept.
