Virtual learning has emerged as an ideal platform for learning. Different e-learning packages has been developed to solve instructional problems globally, but in Nigeria few instructors are aware of the usage of this technologies. Therefore, the study examined the acquisition of basic chemistry practical through virtual among Senior Secondary School students in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. Nigeria. The study further considered gender and achievement level of the students taught with virtual learning.A survey designed method was adopted, sample constituted of 28 Senior Secondary School II Chemistry students, of which fourteen (14) were male and fourteen (14) also female. The results reveal that virtual learning enhances students’ understanding of laboratory chemistry concepts, acquisition and improve performances in chemistry as an alternative to actual chemistry laboratory in Nigerian Senior Secondary Schools.
<div class="WordSection1"><p>Visual learning devices can be instructional tools utilised by the instructors globally. However, despite its relevance for teaching, the awareness of its use have not been notably established. Therefore, the study examined the impact of visual learning devices on secondary school (SS) biology students’ academic performance in Ilorin, Nigeria. Study was of descriptive of the survey type and sampled were 100 teachers and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">139 </span>students in Ilorin, Nigeria. The instrument was the researchers-designed questionnaire which was validated by two Biology educators, two educational technologists and a test, measurement and evaluation specialist. Whereas, the face and content and pilot tested were observed with Cronbach alpha, and reliability coefficients were recorded at 0.05 level of significance. Seven research questions were raised and answered while three research hypotheses were formulated and tested. Findings revealed a significant difference between male and female students; between the students in SS I. II, and III and between the rural and urban schools students on impact of visual learning devices on students’ academic performance. Therefore, the study concluded that visual learning devices has impact on students’ academic performance. Hence, the use of visual learning devices was recommended for all secondary schools in Nigeria for the teaching of Biology.</p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong>Keyword</strong>: learning devices, academic performance, biology students,<strong> </strong>impact</p></div>
Social media is a technology, which came into existence out of curiosity for social interaction to connect people but has evolved to become an influential tool for teaching and learning globally. However, despite its usefulness and relevance to learning, the perception, Ease of Use (EoU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Self-efficacy (Se), and intention to integrate social media into learning by postgraduate students have not been substantially established. Therefore the objectives of this study were to: (i) identify the social media used by postgraduate students; (ii) investigate postgraduate students’ PU, EoU, Se and intention to use social media for learning; (iii) investigate the relationships among postgraduate students’ PU, EoU, Se, and the intention to use social media for learning; (iv) examine the influence of postgraduate students’ gender on their PU, EoU, Se, and intention to use social media for learning; and (v) determine the influence of postgraduate students’ discipline on their PU, EoU, Se, and the intention to use social media for learning.
This paper aimed to discuss the perceptions held by employees towards the objectives of the system employed in their organization to assess their service interactions with customers, their perceptions of fairness of the system, and how such fairness relates to their satisfaction with the assessment outcomes. The study's population, consisting of employees working within service assurance call centres situated in Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Gauteng comprised of 117 respondents. To achieve the paper's objective the researchers used a self-administered questionnaire and the data collected was managed and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of the study indicated that employees perceive the uses of assessing their service interactions with customers as both developmental and administrative, perceive fair outcomes and procedures used in determining the outcomes, they are satisfied with assessment outcomes, view the system used to assess their interactions as effective and trustworthy.
