As a review of the literature, this paper highlights how three dimensions - task performance, skill development, and cross-cultural adjustment, have been used to understand cross-cultural performance. With respect to task performance, two criteria should be measured for all those working cross-culturally, including remote or virtual cross-cultural work: (1) how accurately employees read the unique contextual demands of a cross-cultural context and (2) how effectively they respond given the contextual and strategic demands of the task. Focusing on development of cross-cultural competencies as a performance goal we highlight the dimensions most important for assessment, focusing on self- and relationship management competencies. Regarding cross-cultural adjustment, we offer a more precise and nuanced approach which accounts for the person-environment fit in the context of working in cultural novelty.
Проблем истраживања односи се на питање ставова родитеља и васпитача према играчкама за децу, из перспективе породичног и институционалног контекста. Циљ истраживања је испитивање мишљења родитеља и васпитача о корисности играчака, њиховом утицају на формирање стереотипа код деце, али и утицају тржишта, ТВ реклама и других фактора на избор и куповину играчака. Узорак истраживања је пригодан и чине га 105 васпитача и 105 родитеља предшколске деце из вртића у Новом Саду. Примењен је метод анонимне добровољне анкете, а упитник је преузет од Б. Сатон-Смита и донекле измењен и прилагођен. Резултати су подвргнути дескриптивној статистици. Добијени резултати указују на то да су мишљења родитеља и васпитача слична по питању доприноса играчака образовању деце и развоју њихове маште, безбедности играчака и неодобравања играчака оружја. Већина васпитача не одобрава рекламирање играчака, док већина родитеља исто то одобрава. Проблем простора утиче на избор дечјих играчака у вртићу, док су мишљења родитеља о том питању подељена. О куповини играчака у вртићу најчешће одлучују одрасли професионалци, понекад уз консултације са родитељима, а врло ретко консултују децу. У породици најчешће о куповини играчака одлучују заједно деца и одрасли, затим сама деца и најређе само одрасли. Аутори рада сматрају да добијени резултати указују на потребу освешћивања свих, за дете значајних одраслих по питању њихове улоге и одговорности за избор играчака и поруке које свакодневно шаљу деци посредством играчака.
Organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) represent an important aspect of job performance, as these actions contribute to organizational functioning in several ways. Although there is growing recognition of the importance of within-person OCB dynamics over time and some work is beginning to suggest self-concept may be an important antecedent of OCBs, previous research does not appear to have integrated these two lines of work. Thus, the present research proposed and examined such an integration, focusing on self-concept orientation and targeted OCBs using a within-person daily survey approach. More specifically, drawing from Greenwald et al.'s unified theory of implicit social cognition and Bolino et al.'s selfregulatory framework, this study examined within-person relationships between self-concept orientation, motives, intentions, and targeted OCBs. Participants (99 employed individuals from the United States) completed daily measures of these variables for up to 15 days. Results from multilevel modeling analyses were largely supportive of the proposed hypotheses, highlighting the relevance of self-concept components in the context of OCBs over time. These findings may contribute to both theoretical development and practical applications, as they provide a more detailed view of self-concept and OCBs over time that might be considered in attempts to enhance citizenship behaviors in organizations.
