A sustainable lifestyle and green consumption are becoming popular nowadays due to increased awareness of environmental issues and many incidents regarding food safety. This has triggered the rapid development of the marketing of green products and the promotion of many green brands which causes confusion among consumers. This paper’s purpose is to evaluate the relationship between this consumer confusion and different Food-Related Lifestyles (FRLs) tending towards green consumption, taking as a case study organic infant milk formula. This study was based on an online survey which was conducted with 381 Taiwanese parents and carried out from January to February 2019. Through cluster analysis, this study categorized the different FRLs into three groups, i.e., consumers unfamiliar with food product quality, consumers who value food quality, and consumers who value food practicality. This study found that there is no significant correlation between different levels of consumer confusion and different FRLs. Furthermore, different consumers’ FRLs have significant correlations with green consumption intention. This study also found a positive relationship between consumer confusion and green consumption intention.
Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) has been implemented to evaluate the structure of behavioral change of the local communities in the forest and wildlife conservation program in Tangkahan, the eastern part of GLNP. This study has the purpose to reveal the determinant factors of local community behavior to support forest and wildlife conservation through ecotourism activities and to formulate a strategy to recover wildlife ecotourism in the post-COVID-19 outbreak. The study was conducted in Tangkahan through a survey method to collect the data. The data were analyzed using linear regression analysis. This study found that the determinant factors of behavioral intention are the conservation attitude and perceived behavioral control and behavioral intention significantly affects the behavior to participate in conservation activities. To improve the visiting number and the ecotourism service in Tangkahan in the post-COVID 19 outbreak, the community should transform and develop the management system from a conventional to virtual/digital method, develop and follow the COVID-19 protocol of ecotourism, re-arrange the ticket fee and the tour packages to cope with domestic visitors and improve the access to the area by constructing the roads and provision of transportation services.
Konishii fir (Cunninghamia konishii Hayata) is n important conifer in Taiwan. The purpose of this study was to predict stand volume (V), aboveground biomass accumulation (AGB), and aboveground carbon storage (AGCST) for a Konishii fir plantation. This study was located at the Huisun Experimental Forest Station of Nantou County located in central Taiwan. Four sample plots, each with an area of 0.05 ha, were installed and surveyed from 29 June to 2 July 2020. Two models, the diameter distribution model (DDM) and allometric model (AM), were used to predict V, AGB, and AGCST. Each item predicted by these two models was compared by the paired sample t-test. We employed the Weibull function to quantify stand diameter distribution and this function can effectively quantify diameter distribution, because all plots passed the examination by the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test (non-significant). Therefore, the Weibull function was suitable for developing the DDM. The predicted V, AGB, and AGCST were 538.43 ± 140.52 m3 ha−1, 203.25 ± 52.79 Mg ha−1, and 100.85 ± 26.30 Mg ha−1 by DDM; and 555.90 ± 145.42 m3 ha−1, 209.10 ± 51.25 Mg ha−1, and 103.78 ± 25.51 Mg ha−1 by AM, respectively. Each item was insignificantly different between DDM and AM, indicating similarity in results for both predictions. Meanwhile, using DDM is advantageous, as it can provide more yield information in diameter classes; therefore, this approach was recommended for yield prediction of the Konishii fir plantation.
