This research examines the influence of service quality (tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) and store atmosphere on customer satisfaction and the influence of customer satisfaction on repurchase intention, trust, and word of mouth on customers of souvenir stores in Yogyakarta. Selection of the sample is done by using purposive sampling with one criterion: they have shopped in souvenir stores in Yogyakarta. Data are collected by using questionnaires and 200 souvenir store customers participate in this study. The data are analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Amos computer program. The findings show that none of service quality's dimension: tangibles and store atmosphere have positive influences on customer satisfaction.
In the case of high dimensional data with missing values, the process of collecting data from various sources may be miss accidentally, which affected the quality of learning outcomes. a large number of machine learning methods can be applied to explore the search area for imputation and selection of features and parameters. ML classification needs preprocessing with self-organizing map imputation (SOMI) before the imputation of missing values is done to improve the accuracy of the model. This study introduces a new approach that combines naïve Bayes classification (NBC) and genetic algorithm (GA) optimization procedures to effectively explore the search space based on a sample of experimental points. GA is a classification model approach based on the selection of features that cause computational problems, such as reduced dimensions, uncertainty and imbalanced data sets with various classes. In the experiment, preprocessing the data using SOMI yielded error results that were up to 10% for various data sets with missing data compared to other methods. In the SOMI-GANB hybrid model, the experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly improve accuracy by up to 90% compared to other imputation methods and without feature selection. SOMI can be used for homogeneous, heterogeneous and mixed data sets. The results from the experiment clearly showed that the proposed method could significantly increase the yield compared to the other imputation methods and without feature selection. The combination of GA and naïve Bayes classification was chosen because they are simple, easy-to-understand methods that are very effective in finding optimal solutions from a set of possible solutions. Naïve Bayes imputation had higher accuracy compared to neural network imputation.
Riau Islands as one of the tourism destinations in Indonesia that has unique tourist uniqueness. The uniqueness and potential of tourism in the Riau Islands is developed as one of the tourism destinations based on culture and supported by the beauty of nature is very interesting. The emergence of maritime tourism as the most popular place impacts the tourism in the Riau Islands region. Many changes occur due to the development of tourism. However, the most attention is the high level of tourism accommodation development with a very limited amount of land. The limitation does not necessarily stop development and even leads to a higher level of functional alteration that threatens the existence of green open spaces that also impact to other areas as happened in Teluk Village Mangrove, Gunung Kijang District. Besides that, the lack of human resources, especially in Teluk Bakau Village, Gunung Kijang Subdistrict, is still not able to compete in tourism sector either in local, national or international scale. If this is left is not impossible that tourism was originally expected to be able to improve the welfare of society it will threaten the welfare of the community itself. Intangible is seen there is movements of people who are now tend to orient towards profit financially or profit oriented. Because, tourism industry is seen as a profitable activity and able to bring in great revenue. But, reality in the field shows that the development of Tourism Village has not been side with the community of Teluk Bakau Village. As the development of coastal tourism is a tourism asset sold for tourist satisfaction. However, the development of tourist villages is not aligned with people's lives. The socioeconomic life of the Bakau Bay community is unchanged while investors reap huge profits from this tourism activity. In fact, if there is no coastal tourism industry tourism in Teluk Bakau Village will not grow.
Islam is a comprehensive religion that covers not only the ritual worship aspect but also ethics and acts of business. The field of Islamic work ethics has been studied by many researchers in different study settings. However, the important role of Islamic work ethics has been underexplored in work commitment studies. Therefore, this study aims to examine the direct and indirect effect of Islamic work ethics in affecting employees work performance and turnover intention through work commitment. This study used the quantitative method as their main research design. Purposive sampling was applied as a sampling technique with a five-point Likert scale of the structured questionnaire as a measurement scale and data gathering method. The bootstrap method used to test the proposed hypotheses. This study concluded that Islamic work ethic positively affects work commitment, thus work commitment positively affects work performance. This study also found that there was an insignificant effect of Islamic work ethic on work performance and turnover intention, and work commitment on turnover intention. Fundamentally, the mediation role of work commitment failed to prove in this study as there were only significant indirect effects between Islamic work ethic and work performance. In other words, the higher individual beliefs on Islamic value, the more committed employee to do their job. Thus, the more committed and enthusiastic employees on their job, the higher their work performance will be.
