Abstrak. Keterampilan menulis ilmiah dalam penyusunan laporan praktikum merupakan salah satu cakupan yang diperhatikan dalam penilaian pembuatan sebuah laporan. Pembuatan laporan bertujuan untuk menguraikan hasil dari pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada saat melakukan percobaan dengan membandingkan teori yang sudah ada, kemudian membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan hasil percobaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis ilmiah (scientific writing skills) pada praktikum kelistrikan mahasiswa pendidikan fisika angkatan 2019 Universitas Jember dalam menyusun laporan praktikum fisika dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan instrumen berupa rubrik penilaian hasil laporan sesuai dengan indikator keterampilan menulis ilmiah. Hasil analisis scientific writing skills mahasiswa pada praktikum fisika kelistrikan tergolong baik.Kata kunci: scientific writing skills, laporan praktikum, kelistrikan.
This paper explains a study on microwave-assisted leaching of aluminum from peat clay. Microwave-assisted leaching was undertaken using the Iwaki Pyrex glass reactor in a modified microwave oven. A research was made of the effect of acid concentration, microwave power, temperature, and reaction time on the aluminum leaching recovery. The dominant presence of aluminous minerals determined leaching of aluminum values in hydrochloric acid medium at different concentration and microwave power. The optimum leaching ratio for 4 M hydrochloric acid concentration, 40 °C temperature, and 15 min reaction time was obtained 67% dan 46,6% for 100 W dan 80 W respectively. The microwave assisted leaching is more efficient about overall aluminum dissolution.
LKS is a teaching material that is often used by teachers in the learning process. Teaching and learning science based on the Engineering Design Process can train thinking processes well. This study aims to determine how the role of EDP is to strengthen students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is qualitative research using a single case study approach. This research was conducted at SMAN Arjasa, Jember Regency with 6 students as participants. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used interactive model analysis by Miles and Huberman. The credibility test uses the triangulation technique and member check. The results of this study are the use of EDP in student worksheets provides the strengthening of students' critical thinking skills and the most support is at the define, learn, and plan stages. Meanwhile, at the try, test, and decide stages are the results of developing information that has been obtained in the previous stage but with consideration of joint decisions.
Aluminum oxide in peat clay has the potential to be used as a catalyst, coagulant, and adsorbent for the water treatment process. The usefulness of aluminum oxide in peat clay is enhanced by the leaching process. Aluminum was leached from peat clay in a variety of microwave power, HCl concentrations, and particle size. The effect of the microwave leaching parameters on the aluminum leaching rate was observed. The shrinking core (SC) model used in microwave-assisted leaching was assumed a pseudo steady state with chemical reactions. Effective diffusivity (De), mass transfer coefficient (kc), and reaction rate constants (k) are used as fitting parameters. The best fitting parameters De, kc
, and k obtained 0.0049 cm2/s, 2.49 cm/s, and 10.5 cm/s, respectively. The comparison of experimental data and model calculations shown that the SC model can describe experimental data well for all microwave-assisted leaching conditions. Precious information on the results of this research can be given for the goal of the scaling-up and design of the microwave assisted leaching process.
