A reconfigurable planar antenna design bandwidth operating in ultra wide band (UWB) applications with compact dimensions of (50 × 25× 1) mm3 is proposed. The switching capability is achieved by using a two PIN diodes F-shaped slot and a two narrow vertical slot. A defected ground structure is used to improve a range of frequency from 0.83 GHz to 5.24 GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 4.41 GHz. Moreover, the flow of current within the patch’s radiation is controlled via pair of PIN diodes situated at the centre with in the patch in the F-shape slot. A retractable patch antenna design is offered, and the bandwidth re-configurability is attained by manipulating the operational states of the PIN diodes. As result, we get a reconfigurable Circular Polarization (CP). Furthermore, the proposed antenna demonstrated an efficiency of 88.55% infrequencies operating at 3 dB Axial Ratio (AR) bandwidths. All achieved results shows that our antenna design is working much with 5G and UWB application.
A simple design for a bi-band circularly polarized (CP) antenna with the capability of switching its polarization between dual-sense CPs is presented in this article, by using a monopole loop antenna as a primary radiator as a proposed antenna. An additional CP band is achieved by controlling the ON/OFF states of two PIN diodes; moreover, the reconfigurability of the polarization between right-hand CP (RHCP) and left-hand CP (LHCP) at three different frequencies 2.8, 3.4 and 4 GHz is realized. For validation, a retractable patch antenna design is offered on the basis of a distinctive situation analysis. The antenna offers a low reconfigurable band and a fixed band at higher frequencies. It also presents a reconfigurable low band and a fixed band at higher frequencies where the antenna has a simulated 3 dB ARBW of 52.8% [1.9-2.5] GHz, while the axial ratio bandwidths for both the RHCP and LHCP states were 5.1% [1.9-2] GHz, 8% [2.4-2.6] GHz, and 52.8% [1.9-2.5] GHz. Located in a reflection bandwidth of -10 dB of 3% [1.62-1.67] GHz, 8% [2.4-2.6] GHz for RHCP and 3% [1.62-1.67 ] GHz, 8%[2.44-2.64 ] GHz for LHCP. The proposed antenna is suitable for wireless applications such as WLAN (2.5 GHz) and part of the medium band of WiMAX..
A reconfigurable simple design planar antenna for ultra-wideband applications is proposed, with E-shaped slot contained four narrow vertical slots that has the capacity of switching using four PIN diodes with a ground plan and a microstrip power line. An additional circularly polarized (CP) band is obtained by changing the on/off states of the PIN diodes. Moreover, the four PIN diodes are attached in the middle of the E-shape slot and used to switch the radiation flow of the patch. For validation, a patch antenna design is offered, based on a distinctive situation analysis. The antenna offers the low-ultra-wideband (UWB) frequencies band. Therefore, the switch of the operating states of PIN diodes gives us a good bandwidth re-configurability. In addition, with this flexible configuration we achieve a good -10 dB bandwidths with the ability to change the bandwith ranges from narrow-band 2.3 GHz to wide-band 3.1 GHz. Also, we achieve a large band for 3 dB AR is 2.57 GHz.
