The purpose of the study is to identify the important aspects of quality of life assessed in children with cochlear implant. Parental Perspective questionnaire with modified in Bangla was used as a data collection tool in this study. Data was collected through face to face interview with 25 parents of children with Cochlear Implant (CI) attended at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. Among 25 cochlear implant children, the boys (12) and girls (13) were nearly the same. Results indicated that the majority of the children had difficulties with communication with known people (48.00%) and before implantation children with CI obtained no benefit at all from hearing aids (76.00%). However, the research finding shows that they are largely satisfied with the outcomes from implantation. Improvement of social relationship, family well-being, within the family, educational condition, and self-reliance was satisfactorily reported by the parents. This study would help the clinician, speech pathologist, children and parents to raise awareness about the impact of CI and its treatment.
Low Back Pain (LBP) is known as a common musculoskeletal problem & it is found a greater percentage among professionals. The purpose of the study was to find out the prevalence of LBP & its associated factors among school teachers. A cross-sectional study was carried out comprising 69 male and 76 female with an age range between 25-60years old took part in this study. Results indicated that a greater percentage of school teachers found LBP. Factors like BMI, previous back injury, sleeping disturbance were responsible for LBP. However, there was no significant relationship found between LBP with office ergonomics. A knowledge program might be introduced among school teachers for creating awareness of factors related to LBP.
Background: Job satisfaction is an integral part of an individual's Professional life. It denotes to the worker's perception of their workplace settings, relationships amid fellows, salary as well as endorsement opportunities. The objective of the study was to determine job satisfaction among physiotherapy professionals working in the private sector. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A total of 103 graduate and postgraduate completed physiotherapy professionals working in the private sectors included in this study. The investigators used a structured questionnaire to collect the data from June to November 2018. Satisfaction level was evaluated by 4-point Likert scale grading and ranging from 1= Strongly dissatisfaction, 2=Dissatisfaction, 3=Satisfaction, and 4=Strongly satisfaction. Results: Results indicated that more than half of the participants were satisfied with their job. Without a salary structure and promotion system, most of the participant's consent on satisfaction about the working environment, leave policy, the security of job place, comfortable with senior, colleague behavior, and cooperation of colleagues. In addition, females were more satisfied than male and young professionals were more satisfied than the senior. However, there was a highly significant relationship found between salary and job satisfaction (p value 0.001). Conclusion: It is concluded from the study that a moderate number of participants in the private sector expressed their job satisfaction. Job satisfaction was influenced by some factors. It is noted that attention on salary structure and review of job might help to increase the level of satisfaction.
