The golden number has been one of the most important measures of beauty from ancient Greece till now. Although the reason still unclear, it is certain that the golden ratio has a direct correlation with beauty. This nice feeling can come from listening to a musical piece or watching a visual art, which is based on this wondrous number. Although the golden number is more suitable from beauty or harmony’s perspective, for some researches it is a requirement to develop Architectural designs. Therefore, in this article a masterpiece (Shah-mosque Isfahan) was investigated to find its golden relations. This mosque was chosen because of the precise and harmonious proportions. In this research: plan, sections, facade and decorations of ceiling tiles in main dome, were analyzed by Phi-matrix software in which, existence of the golden ratio has been proven undoubtedly.
The natural characteristics of protected areas have changed for a variety of reasons through time. Changes in protected area landscapes can occur because of natural and/or cultural processes. Natural processes such as geomorphologic disturbance and climatic condition can permanently and/or temporarily change the characteristics of the environment. In addition, changes in human needs, knowledge and activities are the cultural driving forces behind changing characteristics of landscape through time. Herein, the contact between citizens and open spaces continues to block the successful movement of open and especially urban spaces. One of the most important parts of this relationship is local citizens' awareness of open spaces. In this paper key issue in the contacts between citizens and Golestan National Park (GNP) in western part of Iranian capital, Golestan is investigated. In fact, in this paper our objectives are to describe and clarify residents' attitudes regarding the costs and benefits of GNP, explore the effects of people's awareness of park management through nongovernmental organization.
This article is a study of the artisanship involved in the construction of Iranian Watermills, and the cultural aspects of a traditional architecture that incorporates an understanding of constructions that date back centuries. Expanding the existing knowledge of these heritage properties and explaining their current condition in order to express the need for the preservation of ancient artisanship as part of a sustainable conservation future are the other prominent concerns of this work.Herein, historical and contemporary documents and travel accounts concerning the traditional buildings of the Iranian water-mills are studied to achieve a better understanding of the buildings background in the region. In addition, depending on the information accessibility and the existence of the constructions` remains, the authors chose some historical sites to be aware of the buildings` current condition and their exact functions based on observational studies. The article discusses that Iranian traditional Water mills represent knowledge of a highly developed technology which makes such ingenious use of natural resources without the consumption of additional power. Among different Iranian Traditional constructions, water-mills are the subject of the main body of this article.
