This paper described the development of the low cost air ventilation system for server room security using Arduino. Server room is one of the crucial spaces that require high security protection. All the important data and information of an organization stored in server. In this research, smoke detector is used as fire detector in for protecting the server from damages caused by the fire, all the gas element causes fire spread such as oxygen (O 2 ), carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ). Commonly, an organization needs to spend around $30,000 to $50,000 for the alarm system, but the system only alert the workers and does not protect the server and equipment. The objectives of this research project are to develop fire detection system as the protection to the server and to test the functionality of the system. The significant of this project is to develop internal server room security using air ventilation machine as a main function to release gas element in server room. The experiments showed that, the detection of the smoke detector based on the material that produces the smoke and gases, and the latency or sensitivity of smoke detector depends on the material. Recommendation to enhance this project research is to use different smoke detector and use other type of method to reduce the oxygen in the server room. This research paper showed that the air ventilation system paired with smoke detector was very efficient in controlling the fire widespread, means that, the objectives have been successfully achieved. Air ventilation system capable to vacuum oxygen (O 2 ) in server room, which is the main factor to avoid the fire to widespread.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
