This research paper focuses on various gaps associated with the Learning Management System (LMS) and their remedies. LMS is a software application platform upon which multiple tasks related to online tutoring are created. For organizations, it's crucial that the risks associated with any automated process are kept as low as possible. This should also pertain to selecting the LMS platform for educating new professionals to the organization. To execute this, organizations, should carry out due research before incorporating any system as their primary LMS. Even though, they provide a lot of benefits for organizations integrating such platforms. Choosing faulty LMS for training recruits can lead to a variety of issues later on. Thus, it becomes essential to select the best LMS platform available in the market, and the one suits the organization's needs. The work proposed in this paper is listing together a number of problems that exists in any given LMS framework and trying to alter them according to the needs of the organization so that they provide a feasible solution and deliver a better guidance to the recruits.
Learning management system (LMS) is an emerging paradigm of revolutionized educational environment in which software applications or web-based technologies is used to plan, implement, and assess specific learning and administrative processes of an educational institution. In essence, LMS adapts a service-oriented architecture where different entities can offer or request autonomous services such as to create/deliver content, monitor student participation, or assess performance. However, LMS encompasses several internal and external security risks and vulnerabilities to the private information stored in it. To overcome the security risks and vulnerabilities, a robust security model is a crucial requirement. Blockchain is a distributed hyperledger that utilizes different cryptographic and distributed techniques and algorithms. The benefit of using blockchain is a smart contract-based learning management system that can be secured, immutable and traceable. This paper presents a secure decentralized LMS based on a private blockchain network called blockchain based learning management system (BLMS). For ensuring security against internal attacks of the BLMS, the mechanism of fine grained permission (FGP) flow is applied that is responsible for maintaining the proof of permission access and revocation rights between academic and administrative layers. We also proposed solutions to ensure data security, privacy, access control and availability.
A learning management system is a web-based software application that is used for the documentation, administration, tracking, reporting and delivery of training programs and educational courses. It is an efficient and effective way to give valuable information to the students in a short time. With the evolution of e-learning, the learning management system is widely adopted in the education sector as well as in corporate market. Thus, it became a valued target for attackers to focus their attacks on LMS platforms. Most of the popular learning management systems available now a day don't pay enough attention to the security mechanism and that gives opportunity to intruders to gain unauthorized access by manipulating the security gaps and breach into the system. The result is information leakage, unwanted data deletion or modification and compromised integrity of the data. The aim of this research paper is to focus on the need of security concerns and to provide a solution that can make the learning management system secure from any possible potential threats and attacks. In this paper, a complete multi-layered security model is proposed. The implementation of proposed model will provide a very secure environment for any learning management system.
Learning paths drive learners to proficiency by using a selected sequence of training activities under time constraints. Therefore, learners can regulate learning and give feedback for pedagogy improvements. Studying learning path evaluation provides a useful conceptual reference to enhance pedagogically. This paper proposes an approach based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act improvement cycle to systematically evaluate learning paths in learning management systems. The framework is a valuable resource that consolidates existing practices in learning management evaluation. Our approach integrates learning styles, learning profile, along with cognitive activities. The proposed framework was compared with current learning path methods. Results were competitive compared with related works.
