A comprehensive morphological and genetic study of type material and new collections of sequestrate Russulales species formerly belonging to the genera Arcangeliella, Elasmomyces, Gymnomyces, Hydnangium, Hymenogaster, Macowanites, Martellia,
Secotium and Zelleromyces is here undertaken, for the purpose of providing a complete taxonomical revision of sequestrate Russulaceae species in the Mediterranean and temperate regions of Europe. As a result, seven distinct taxa in the genus Lactarius and 18 in
the genus Russula are identified. Six of them are new species: L. populicola, L. subgiennensis, R. bavarica, R. candidissima, R. hobartiae and R. mediterraneensis, and seven represent new combinations: L. josserandii (≡ Zelleromyces
josserandii), L. soehneri (≡ Hydnangium soehneri), R. candida (≡ Hydnangium candidum), R. cerea (≡ Hydnangium cereum), R. messapica var. messapicoides (≡ Macowanites messapicoides), R. meridionalis
(≡ Zelleromyces meridionalis) and R. neuhoffii (≡ Hydnangium neuhoffii). Twenty-two of the 25 taxa are illustrated, while descriptions, microscopy images, as well as extensive information on the ecology, chorology and phylogeny for all taxa are provided. A
key is further included to facilitate their identification.
Knowledge on the diversity of hypogeous sequestrate ascomycetes is still limited in the Balkan Peninsula. A new species of truffle, Tuberpulchrosporum, is described from Greece and Bulgaria. Specimens were collected from habitats dominated by various oak species (i.e. Quercusilex, Q.coccifera, Q.robur) and other angiosperms. They are morphologically characterised by subglobose, ovoid to irregularly lobed, yellowish-brown to dark brown ascomata, usually with a shallow basal cavity and surface with fissures and small, dense, almost flat, trihedral to polyhedral warts. Ascospores are ellipsoid to subfusiform, uniquely ornamented, crested to incompletely reticulate and are produced in (1–)2–8-spored asci. Hair-like, hyaline to light yellow hyphae protrude from the peridium surface. According to the outcome of ITS rDNA sequence analysis, this species forms a distinct well-supported group in the Aestivum clade, with T.panniferum being the closest phylogenetic taxon.

Meesia longiseta, monocots Dactylorhiza romana and Neotinea maculata and
dicots Adenophora liliifolia, Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Tanacetum
corymbosum subsp. cinereum are given within SE Europe and adjacent regions.
Pinus peuce (Balkan, Macedonian or Molika pine) is an endemic tree for the Balkans and a Tertiary relict, one of the two European five-needled pines of the subgenus Strobus (white pines). This work summarizes the data on macrofungal diversity in natural forests and artificial plantations of Macedonian pine in Bulgaria, based on three year survey of epigeous and hypogeous fungi in selected sampling plots, and combining morphology-based and molecularly inferred identification. The study registered 190 species in total. Higher diversity of macrofungi was recorded on sampling plots in natural stands compared to artificial plantings. Nine species are reported for the first time for the Bulgarian mycobiota. The paper provides the first public set of sequences of macrofungi of P. peuce stands, comprising 62 accessions.
