In the transformation process from the industrial phase of civilizational development to the information phase, the economic base of different scales of spatial structures undergoes fundamental changes. The result of this process is the transformation of the job market. The number of workers in traditional industrial sectors decreases as the result of the development of new sectors connected with computer industry, which leads to workers’ change in sectors of high technologies, both the industry and the services. This article presents the analysis of differentiation of European space and the changes of chosen indicators related to the quality of human capital which determine the development of information society and the growth of economic innovation. The authors of the article attempt to determine the relations between selected features, the dynamics of their development and the time correlation by means of a synthetic measure, related to the differentiation of intellectual potential and advanced economic technology in the analysed spatial structures (regions NUTS 2 and NUTS 1).The research takes into account the influence of particular empirical indicators on the value of the synthetic measure. This allows creation of a kind of hierarchy of European space according to the analysed features and the synthetic values determining the differentiation of the quality of intellectual supplies and economic innovation.
The paper aims to highlight the role of entrepreneurial attitudes in school education. This is due to the large role of entrepreneurship in the socio-economic development of different spatial systems (local, regional, national) in a globalized world economy. Developing entrepreneurial attitudes should take place not only during the lessons of Entrepreneurship, but during the whole period of school education and on other subjects. Teachers of Geography play a special role in this field. It is the consequence of large convergence of aims and teaching contents of geographic education with the objectives of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract.
The article discusses the issue of spatial distribution and diversity of educational potential of Higher Education (HE) urban centres described by the number of students and HE institutions as well as their structure in terms of types in the regions of France in 1998‒2008. According to the research results it appears that the actions undertaken in order to level the socio-economic development of the regions of France, i.e. increasing the quality of human capital, resulted in an even distribution of HE centres, their high educational potential and lack of regional specificity in terms of the structure of the educational offer.
The quality of intellectual resources becomes increasingly important, especially in the process of shaping the economy based on knowledge and overcoming the effects of the economic crisis. The quality of intellectual resources depends on the quality of functioning of higher education. In the process of improving the quality of intellectual resources not only the level of education of the society is essential but also the direction of graduate studies, which affects job opportunities. The aim of this article was to determine the changes in the functioning of higher education in Poland and changes of the structure of academic education in years 1990–2008, with particular emphasis on the recent years’ changes. The changes were shown on the background of the European Union.
