Among the all bacteriostatic substance metronidazole is an important active substance that has been used for antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication. It is used for the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease, endocarditic, dracunculiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, amebiasis, and most important in bacterial vaginitis.
