Purpose: Higher education institutions assume an effective role in enriching the education quality of a nation. The curriculum developed or approved by the ministry, which is an apex body in the country, has a direct impact on the outcomes of the educational system. This paper has made an attempt to critically evaluate the entrepreneurial initiatives developed by the students who pursue their MBA programme.Methodology: This research work is based on both primary and secondary sources of data and the primary data required for the study were collected through a structured questionnaire from rightly designed sample size while for the secondary data, the researchers have relied on previous research works in the same field, apart from other sources like, magazines, e-library resources, text books and websites. The data were analysed by Percentage Analysis and Henry Garrett Ranking Technique to attain the objectives of the study.Findings: The results of the study indicate that most of the students who pursue MBA programme are willing to initiate own business to make a career.Practical Implications: This research work implies that if MBA programmes offered by HEIs incorporate more of practical sessions involving the students in real world problem analysis and decision making mechanism, the students would be able to become successful entrepreneurs.Social Implications: The results of the study indicate that when more of entrepreneurial oriented master programmes are offered, the country will be able to ensure sustainable growth in the business field focusing on SME.Result Limitations/Implications: The present research study has focused on only the MBA students whereas there are other master degree programmes having courses in entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, which are not covered by the study.Originality/Value: The result outcomes and suggestions would be of valuable basis for any authority who is involved in reviving the curriculum of academic programmes in entrepreneurship.
BACKGROUND Sedentary lifestyle has widely increased in people of all ages; in present era due to vast development in science and technology, mostly students prefer indoor activities which negatively influences their health. Sedentary lifestyle is not only a risk factor for non communicable diseases but it also causes several mental and psychological disorders which negatively affect the academic performance of students. PURPOSE To determine the relationship between light physical activity and academic performance in university students STUDY DESIGN AND SAMPLE SIZE Observational study and it consists of 178 participants. METHOD Closed ended Questionnaires were distributed among all participants, then the data was entered in SPSS 16 software and results were analyzed RESULTS Pearson Chi- Square test was applied to determine the co-relation between physical activity and academic performance. Correlation between light physical activity and academic performance showed non-significant results (p =0.39). CONCLUSION Correlation found between both variables was non-significant. However, physical activity has various helpful effects on mood and other fatal diseases. Increased anxiety and depressive symptoms have reported to be its association with long term illness. Because of having unwanted effects of newly available drugs, patients administering anxiolytic drugs usually discontinue the treatment before they are completely recovered. Therefore, there is a serious need to develop new anxiolytic drugs. The anxiolytic effect of hydro-alcoholic extract of Agaricus blazei in animal models was assessed. 24 male mice (Mus musculus genus) were included in the study. Four groups were prepared and each group contained six animals. The groups were vehicle control, positive control (diazepam 1.0 mg/kg, i.p.) as well as two treatment groups receiving Agaricus blazei hydro-alcoholic extract at a dose of 136.50 mg/kg and 273.0 mg/kg orally. The Marble burying test, Nestlet shredding test and Light and Dark box test used to assess anxiolytic activity. Mice administered with diazepam 1.0 mg/kg, i.p. while hydro-alcoholic extract of AbM (136.50 and 273.0 mg/kg, respectively) was administered via oral route which exhibited marked reduction in number of marbles-burying as compared to vehicle control group. Mice administered with diazepam 1.0 mg/kg, i.p. and Oral administration of hydro-alcoholic extract of AbM (136.50 and 273.0 mg/kg, respectively) exhibited significant decrease in nestlet shredding in comparison to vehicle control group. The oral administration of hydro-alcoholic extract at a dose of 136.5mg/kg and 273mg/kg showed elevation in time spent in light box and was comparable to standard treated group while time spent by mice following oral administration of hydro-alcoholic extract of Agaricus blazei at a dose of 273.0 mg/kg also showed elevation and was found to be more near to standard treated group (diazepam 1 mg/kg, i.p.).
