Three poly-oxygenated aporphines have been transformed into a variety of desoxy congeners. This was readily accomplished by O-dealkylation with BBr3 and BC13 to cleave methoxyl and methylenedioxy groups, respectively, followed by reductive elimination of the resulting phenols as their tetrazoyl ethers or diethyl phosphate esters. The simultaneous elimination of two o-positioned hydroxy groups by these procedures was difficult to accomplish without racemization. t~edicated to Professor Robert Burns Woodard on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.
Cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis) is one of the leading export commodities landed at the Prigi Fishing Port (PPN Prigi). Skipjack tuna fisheries management conducted the conventional single-species Schaefer model which is often applied although it is not technically suitable for multispecies fishery. The application of feedback harvest control rule (HCR) is an alternative harvest strategy that has been successfully implemented and validated for multispecies fishery. This study estimated allowable biological catch by applying two harvest strategies, HCR feedback and Schaefer surplus production model using catch-effort data of skipjack tuna landed at PPN Prigi in the period 2010 - 2019. Model Schaefer pointed out that catches have exceeded the maximum sustainable yield () even employed low the fishing effort which was under the fishing mortality consistent with achieving MSY (). The application of feedback HCR that has been previously validated can be an alternative of harvest strategy for use in fisheries where only mixed species data is available.
Key words: multispecies fishery, harvest strategy, Schaefer model, maximum sustainable yield, single-species approach
TiO 2 -zeolite photocatalyst has been prepared by impregnation of TiO 2 onto acid-activated natural zeolite. The XRD data confirmed that natural zeolite used in this work is predominated with mordenite and clinoptilolite types, whereas anatase type can be attributed to TiO 2 . The highest performance of TiO 2 -zeolite, which is indicated by the surface area of 13.304 m 2 /g and band gap energy of 3.15 eV, is obtained when 10 mmol of TiO 2 is impregnated onto the zeolite. The ability of this photocatalyst is evaluated by examining degradation of methylene blue (MB) in the presence of UV source. The effects of MB concentration, pH and UV irradiation time on the degradation are studied in a batch reactor. It is interesting since the addition of H 2 O 2 can improve the degradation efficiency of MB. The optimum result is achieved at pH 11, duration of UV irradiation of 50 min, showing degradation amount of 98.25%. Surprisingly, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in the degraded MB aqueous solution can be reduced about 77.9%, exhibiting the improvement of water quality. No loss of the activity of the degradation efficiency after reusability of this TiO 2 -zeolite photocatalyst for at least 4 times.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
