Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue Using TiO2-Natural Zeolite as A Photocatalyst

Abstract: TiO 2 -zeolite photocatalyst has been prepared by impregnation of TiO 2 onto acid-activated natural zeolite. The XRD data confirmed that natural zeolite used in this work is predominated with mordenite and clinoptilolite types, whereas anatase type can be attributed to TiO 2 . The highest performance of TiO 2 -zeolite, which is indicated by the surface area of 13.304 m 2 /g and band gap energy of 3.15 eV, is obtained when 10 mmol of TiO 2 is impregnated onto the zeolite. The ability of this photocatalyst is ev… Show more

“…The photodegradation of methylene blue has been also very studied [20][21][22]. It has been reported the use of different semiconductor metal oxides like TiO 2 , CuO and ZnO, either alone or supported in porous materials for such purpose [23][24][25][26].…”

“…This is due to the incorporation of TiO 2 on the external surface of zeolite than the solvothermal method [157]. Similarly, various research efforts have been performed [Table 4, [158][159][160][161][162][163][164][165][166][167][168][169][170][171][172][173][174][175] and still the research is ongoing to prepare TiO 2 /zeolite based composite photocatalytic materials.…”
