Medicinal plants are one of the important components in medicine, in the form of traditional herbal concoctions and have been used since hundreds of years ago, to solve various health problems. This study aims to obtain the spesies of traditional medicinal plants used by the community in Gunung Sembilan Village in treating diseases and to know the use of medicinal plants and how to concoct medicinal raw materials. Data collection with interview and determination of responden uses a snowball sampling technique or carried out sequentially by asking for information on people who have been interviewed or contacted before the research. Observations were made, namely by walking while (without plots) making direct observations in the field together with respondents who knew about the medicinal plants. The results of interviews with the community of Gunung Sembilan Village, Sukadana District North Kayong Regency, 27 species of medicinal plants and 23 families were utilized by the community. The use of herbs is single or mixed, the most widely used are leaves (10 species or 37.04%). The most commonly used processing method is pounded (12 species or 44.44%), and how to consume the most frequently done, which is drink (12 species or 44.44%).Keywords : Gunung Sembilan village community, medicinal plants.

Rattan in trade is generally called rattan, which is a typical tropical plant and is classified as familipalmae, including climbing plant species that require a host tree for its growth process. States that when compared with plants from other palma tribes, rattan has a variety of uniqueness, among others, the length of the stem reaches 100 m or more even though the diameter is only as big as the mother or toe, in terms of shape, rattan plants are not attractive because in part big wrapped in sharp thorny midribs. Rattan stems have extraordinary tenacity and flexibility. Because of that tenacity and flexibility, rattan sticks can be made in various forms of household furniture or other ornaments such as chairs, baskets, and so on. Especially for rattan, in West Kalimantan there are types of rattan with high economic value such as: rattan saga, branch rattan, and ring rattan. From the survey data on rattan inventory from 1990 to 2010, the distribution of rattan in West Kalimantan is generally in swamp forests and part of dryland forest. The Adat Ensibau Forest Area also has a high level of biodiversity, one of which is non-timber forest products, namely rattan. An increase in the number of people that occur around the Adat Ensibau Huatan Area is one of the causes of the emergence of pressure on the preservation of existing types of rattan, so that it will raise concerns or decrease the potential of rattan in the future.Keywords : customary forest, Ensibau hamlet, identification, rattan.
This study aims to explore information on the types of birds that are traded, to know the description of the location of birds originating, to know the status of protected species traded, to know the locations of shelters and the sale of traded birds, to know the number and prices of birds traded. This research was conducted in Ketapang City for 10 days effectively in the field, with the research method in field data collection using snowball sampling technique, namely determining key respondents to then determine other respondents who also knew the relevant information from previous respondents. The results of the data obtained at the time of the study were 267 individuals from 31 species of birds traded. The origin of the traded birds is a specific natural catch in the Jelai Hulu sub-district, Tumbang Titi sub-district, Kendawangan sub-district, Sandai sub-district, Laur sub-district, Matan Hilir Selatan sub-district, Matan Hilir Utara sub-district, Muara Pawan sub-district, and Teluk Batang sub-district and Kayong Utara regency. There are 11 protected bird species as a whole belonging to 15 tribes (families). Of these types, they fall into the protected category according to the Indonesian Law. Birds are in the category of Apendix II CITES and birds are listed in the IUCN Red List category. As for the research on the trading location there were 10 respondents 2 people in the hunter category and 8 bird shops / traders. while the most types of birds sold per type are Kacer (copshycus saularis) as many as 50 Tails / Individual, Murai batu (Copsychus malabaricus) and Serindit (Loriculus galgulus) as many as 44 Tails / Individuals.Keyword: Bird Species, Bird Trade, Ketapang
Paloh is a coastal area that has the potential to apply the concept of community-based ecotourism. Tanjung Belimbing Nature Tourism Park is a Nature Tourism Park area that has a beautiful natural panorama with the potential of plants and wildlife that attracts tourists, making the community develop into an area that is needed for the development of the area as an ecotourism area. The research objective is to discuss the level of community participation in the development of the Tanjung Belimbing TWA region as an ecotourism area and also the factors that influence the low level of the community in the process of regional development. The research method uses survey method, through purposive sampling technique with the help of a questionnaire as a research instrument. The results showed the level of community participation (28.89%) was classified as high participation rate, (13.33%) moderate participation rate, and (57.78%) with low participation rate.
