Sidoarjo on Hands (SoH) is an android-based mobile application that can ease the public of Sidoarjo to get information about the potential area in Sidoarjo. SoH has gone through two stages of systems development. The deficiencies found in the earlier version include still not presenting information on the mileage of the current user site to potential desired areas that to land on. At the same time, the user also wants information about the route. The user must take this route if they would like to go to the potential area. This research tries to apply the Haversine formula as a method of estimation of the calculation of the distance between user's current location and the potential intended areas of SoH. Next, through Google Maps Library, the user will get information about the route. By applying the Haversine formula as a support system to offer the intended areas of potential recommendations, the SoH system may have better performance so that it is able to meet the needs of users of SoH itself.
The impact of COVID19 has crippled not only the economic field but also the field of education. Indonesia is one of the countries affected by COVID19 since March 2020. The education process must continue as the government changes the learning activities conducted face-to-face now conducted online. Online learning makes education workers have to be creative and innovative in delivering lessons, especially in grade 1 students. Early reading skills in students are an important concern for teachers and parents who the author chooses to use digital media (YouTube) in the online learning process. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of digital media (YouTube) on students' early reading ability; to find out the difference in students' initial reading ability using digital media (YouTube) with students without digital media (YouTube). This research uses quantitative methods with quasiexperimental approach. The results of this study showed that the normality test of Shapiro wilk value > 0.05 which means normal distribution. Next Test Paired simple T test with pretest value and posttest experimental group obtained Sig score. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 and for control classes of 0.002 < 0.05 in conclusion there is an average difference in students' initial reading ability; and independent sample T test results obtained by Sig (2-tailed) data of 0.045 < 0.05 this score shows that there is a significant difference in students' initial reading ability by using digital media (YouTube) with students without using digital media (YouTube). Based on the results obtained online learning using digital media (YouTube) is very effective to improve the ability to read the beginnings of grade 1 elementary school students.
This study aims to describe the implementation of Student Teams - Achievement Divisions (STAD) to improve the reading and writing skills of students in grade VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Falah Singosari and describe the improvement in students' reading and writing abilities with the Student Teams - Achievment Divisions (STAD) method. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out with several cycles. Each cycle is carried out in two meetings consisting of 4 stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data analysis of the application of this method by comparing the scores obtained by students in cycle 1 and cycle 2. Indicators of increasing students' reading ability can be seen in the increase in the average value of students in the first cycle with enough category with a percentage of completeness 57.89%, while in the second cycle is sufficient with a percentage of completeness 63.15%. Indicators of increasing students' writing ability can be seen in the increase in the average value of students in the first cycle with a good category with a percentage of completeness of 52.63%, while in the second cycle is good with a percentage of completeness of 68.42%.
Contaminating food-borne pathogen such as Escherichia coli become one problem in food safety especially for agricultural product. Detection of the presence of pathogen may help customers to protect themselves against food-borne disease. Several simple techniques have been developing including the use of Total Plate Count (TPC). However, this method is time consumed resulting developing new approach in detecting E. coli including the use of specific bacteriophage. This research was aimed to isolate, formulate, and test the potency of bacteriophage in detecting E. coli which is isolated from post-harvest horticultural crops. About ten isolates were isolated from 5 traditional vegetable markets in Jember area. In addition, 2 kinds of bacteriophages were also isolated from vegetables and sewage for ϕPst-1 and ϕKR-1, respectively. Formulation of detection solution were based on Luria Bertani Modified Medium (LBMM) composted by LB + 1% Glucose (Glu) and 0.1% of Bromothymol Blue (BTB) which was selected based on stability of green-color at 570nm. Detection assay was also done using mixture of detection solution, sample, and bacteriophage ϕPsT-1 which was incubated at both room temperature and 37°C. The result showed that, the kit was able to determine the presence of E. coli about 4-5 hours depend on the incubation temperature. Negative result was shown by no color change while positive (contaminated by E. coli) result shown by the changing of color from green to yellow. Through this result we claimed that the technique is more efficient than TPC methods.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
