Abstract--This study aimed to figure out how the characteristics of youth organization in South Sulawesi. The developing local wisdom in youth organization in South Sulawesi. Developing process of local wisdom becoming character education in South Sulawesi. Research method employed is qualitative approach with descriptive research type, then the data collection acquired through observation and interview. The data analyzing process including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. The result showed that the existence of character value implantation in youth could possibly done through youth organization activity although possessing various characteristics but the culture value absorbing could happen inside of it. What supposed to be positive could be negative if their dignity violated. Furthermore, the culture in youth organization in South Sulawesi understood that organization brings a lot influences to character and self physicology. Moreover, the value of the cultures can evolve to form characteristics that can conjure characters with characteristics of respect and respect for others.
This study aimed to investigate on how to optimize discussion technique. This is a descriptive qualitative study. The data gained through open ended interview and processed by using data reduction, display data, and conclusion drawing/verification. This study answered two research question. What is the students’ perception on how discussion will be effectively implemented? and What is the teachers’ perception on how discussion will be effectively implemented? The result shows that learning styles in discussion found to be important to consider on how the teacher should treat the students and what teaching technique is best to match their need. The standard of participating in discussion not only when students giving opinion it further whether the students pay attention in discussion. Not only the seating setting is important but also the number of students should be considered on how to implement better discussion class. Learning styles do affect what treatment should be given to the students. Teacher lack affection shows the ineffectiveness of the discussion. Therefore, discussion is considered to be effective if it meets some standards of its effectiveness.
This study aims to examine learning styles based on cultural dimensions theory’s hypothesis. The research focuses to investigate whether styles from cultural view provide an exact description of students’ learning styles and to describe the exactitude of current concept of the theory’s hypothesis. The study employs quasi-experimental design which clusters the experimental design into control and experimental group. In collecting the data, cultural dimensions questionnaire was used to determine students learning styles. As instructed by cultural dimensions theory, one group was assigned with students-centered learning and one was with teacher centered learning. One Way Anove test was conducted to determine the sample homogeneity. The statistical analysis uses Wilcoxon Statistic Test to compare the results of control group and experimental group. The result of experimental group shows moderate learning outcome significance compared to control group. The result is not necessarily significant but consistent. The study suggests that empowering students learning styles will help students learn better compared to conventional teaching.
Abstract-This study used a qualitative phenomenology approach thatis to describe and represent the experience of the informants about the conflict in Sub-Rappocini Makassar. Data analysis, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions were cunducted. The results showed the police cooperated with various stakeholders to be alert to the commission of fights before the conflict occurred. Efforts performed by the police is the prevention of conflict, conflict cessation action and post-conflict recovery action. Democratization among the group caused by the lack of attention of local government. Local authorities agreed to take repressive stance against the perpetrators identified as trigger tensions and the outbreak of groups war. The resolution of conflicts was done unsystematically, and just explanation of the concept or knowledge of the conflict. The security forces still did not specifically provide guidance to constructively execute conflict resolution.
