The New Normal Era needs future adaptation, in order to ensure cities still have competitiveness and resilience in the tourism sector during the pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Smart Tourism Branding concept in Bantul city, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a quantitative study, using the random sampling method to obtain data from 230 respondents through a questionnaire, which was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). During the initial stage, a statistical test on each question?s validity and reliability in the questionnaire was conducted, after which data analysis was carried out. Before performing multiple linear regression analysis, several assumptions were fulfilled, including data normality and multicollinearity. The results showed that the evaluation of smart tourism branding provides an overview of people?s understanding and satisfaction level with regard to tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Jelajah Bantul application, which is a smart tourism branding instrument, supports Bantul City?s ability to compete in attracting tourists and investment globally. In addition, the city?s tourism management and branding identity can be facilitated and strengthened when the synergy strategy of the community and city stakeholders is appropriately regulated.
The spatial practice of women in Kampung Kauman is a concrete manifestation of the active agents of spatial production in everyday life, which uses housing to support their economic, social, and cultural activities. This paper aims to expand the idea of women-led domestic territory using the lens of interiority, highlighting women's practices that connect and expand their space in the inner space of the dwelling and beyond. This research was conducted by mapping the everyday practices of women in Kampung Kauman to reveal various spatial settings in space. This paper argues that women's practice can broaden the understanding of interiority related to houses and their neighbourhoods. The findings of this study show that the connection between domestic spaces to the neighbourhood may change depending on the women's activity, the agreement of social and cultural activities alternately in the domestic area, and shifting the domestic area into a commercial area. This spatial arrangement can guide residential areas and urban environments by considering domestic interiority in everyday life.
In the context of hospital building, inpatient care has large portion in comparasion of the other facility areas within hospitals related to efficiency, such as outpatient services, emergency room, diagnostic and especially inpatient function group services. Even though inpatient care group do not have specific requirements for detailed design and building equipment, it requires efficiency considerations related to correlation with room layout. It is expected that by considering the level of efficiency of service to patients, design can fulfill technical requirements of health and medical aspects. Regarding designs for district-level private hospitals, demand optimization of placement and layout of inpatient care became main topic in this research. This is related to the value of investment in building area development and types of services provided according to inpatient services class. The method used is comparative study of two (2) private hospital design to find the mind factors that most influence of optimization of inpatient layout. The results of study can be used as a guide in architectural design process for designing hospital buildings especially related to design efficiency of inpatient layout so that the building can function sustainability because of optimal service.
Funeral services are part of public facilities with deep meaning for the mourners to ‘say goodbye’. In Indonesia, funeral services are regulated in Spatial and Regional Planning that adapts to the local context and culture. However, the development of funeral services encountered various obstacles in the availability of adequate facilities and have ‘less-meaning’ in small towns. The death of a loved one causes psychological distress for the family and those left behind. This problem underlies study related to the meaning of profane-sacred values in funeral services. The method used is a qualitative study with a storytelling approach through observations at funeral homes and crematoriums in Yogyakarta and Solo, Indonesia. This study shows that the profane zones of funeral services can manifest in flexibility, continuity of space, relief of spatial dimensions, and clarity of circulation. The 'chaotic' phases of mourning can be neutralised with monochrome colours to create an atmosphere of consolation. Meanwhile, sacred zones can be applied rigid, angular, and centred as a form of honour. Landscape interventions may aim to neutralise a grief situation and potentially be an aspect of natural healing. Moreover, landscape planning around the main building can address sustainability and environmental balance. The results of this study are expected to provide a discourse that funeral buildings are not only seen as 'a space of activity', but beyond that, it has a significant role in healing aspects in bereavement conditions.
