The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of the factors and determine the importance of these factors to the LO relationship with the desire to improve the efficiency in logistics activities of the supply chain. An integrated approach including Fuzzy Interpretation Structure Model (FISM), Fuzzy Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (FMICMAC) analysis, Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) is structured in reaching this purpose. Specifically, the impact of factors on the LO relationship will be determined through the FISM-FMICMAC method, then FAHP will use the results from this FISM-FMICMAC analysis step to perform the determination of the level of importance of contributing factors to the LO relationship. The fuzzy number formats of this paper are all in trapezoidal format. To evaluate the proposed framework, a typical example of logistics activity in the Mekong Delta Rice Supply Chain (SuC) was selected. The results have shown the impact level of 14 factors on the LO relationship under 4 clusters (Dependent, Linkage, Independent Autonomous). Finally, only the 10 most outstanding of the 14 factors were used to conduct FAHP analysis to find the global weightages which contribute to the LO relationship by each factor.
Binh Duong province is becoming one of the most attractive locations for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) firms of different origins, yet few studies have been conducted to investigate the several aspects related to FDI firms in Binh Duong. This research aims to evaluate the performance of FDI companies and understand the potential determinants of the performances by utilizing the exploratory approach. The research methodology is carefully designed to ensure the trustworthiness in data collection, coding and analysis. The study finds out four dimensions of Governmental Management: Managerial Political Ties, Institutional Support, Governmental Training Activities and Administrative Procedure that relate to FDI firm performance and competitive advantages. Furthermore, relationship with customers and suppliers manifest correlations with the performance and competitive advantage of FDI enterprises. Finally, this paper suggests some managerial implications for the governmental agencies to improve the current policies to attract more foreign investors. Specifically, FDI companies also get some valuable information when investing in the emerging market like Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular.
This paper analyzes the influence of the factors belonging to the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) on the competitiveness of Logistics Enterprises (LEs) in the Mekong Delta (MD), Vietnam. The input factors will be selected from a rigorous document review process combined with an in-depth survey of leading experts in the logistics field. Since then, an integrated approach including Improved Descriptive Statistics (IDS) combined with Fuzzy Interpretive Structure Modeling (FISM) has been structured to achieve this purpose. Specifically, the factors that have the closest relationship with competitiveness will be determined from the results of an improved descriptive statistical method, then the results will be developed using the FISM method under trapezoidal fuzzy number format to realize the importance of factors contributing to improving the competitiveness of logistics companies. The results have shown the impact of 16 sub-factors, which belong in the 4 main factors of Reputation (REP); Timeliness (TIM); Customs (CUS); and Ease of arranging shipments (EAS), on the competitiveness of logistics enterprises in the region analyzed in 4 clusters (Dependency, Association, Autonomy and independence). In which, 6 out of 16 factors have a significant impact on competitiveness that logistics enterprises need to pay more attention to in their operations. These factors will be ranked as REP4, REP 5, REP3, REP1, REP2, EAS1, respectively.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
