The catalogue of about 200000 stars in the zone from equator to southern pole was complied from photographic observations carried out during 1982 – 1969 years in USSR and Bolivia by Pulkovo astrograph (D=23 sm, F=230 sm, working field 4° × 4° ). The plates were measured by Zeiss Ascoreoord measuring mashines in Pulkovo, Tarija, and others observatories. The process of measurement and compilation of catalogue were carried out in Pulkovo by ES–1033 computer. The observations were made with a four–fold overlap of the sky. Reference oatalogue is SRS catalogue (FK5 system). The differencial refraction, differencial aberration and objective distortion were taken into account. The mean accuracy of catalogue FOCAT-S positions is ±0.123″.
A photographic determination of the absolute coordinates of lunar features against the stellar background by the method of separated plates is proposed. The description of the technique and the equation for the plates reduction is given. The determination of the stars positions by new technique is given in the description of the method, The Moon 11 (1974) 125-136. All Rights Reserved
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
