199 ChemInform Abstract Reaction of allyl isothiocyanate (I) with ethylenediamine (II) gives the bisthiourea (III) which is cyclized on heating, producing the bisthiazoline (IV). Bromination of (III) and subsequent cyclization yield the bromomethyl derivative (V), treatment with ethyl iodide (VI) forms the isothiuronium salt (VII). The compounds (VIII) -(XII) are synthesized in the same manner. Coupling of the glycine ester (XIII) with (I) in the presence of sodium ethylate leads to the formation of the imidazole derivative (XIV). The compound (XV) is obtained from (XIII), (I), and (II). The compounds synthesized have no radioprotective activity.
ChemInform is a weekly Abstracting Service, delivering concise information at a glance that was extracted from about 100 leading journals. To access a ChemInform Abstract of an article which was published elsewhere, please select a “Full Text” option. The original article is trackable via the “References” option.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
