Knowledge management may be improved on the basis of information technology and the development and introduction of the corresponding organizational standard. The requirements on knowledge management and the associated documentation and control processes at an enterprise using the 1C:Document Management information system are determined.

A method is developed for optimizing surface machining plans on the basis of a mathematical model in which the influence of the diameter in each pass on the dimensional precision is taken into account in multipass surface machining on multispindle automatic lathes. That permits calculation of the number of operations, the cutting depth in each pass, and the intermediate quality classes corresponding to maximum machining productivity in automatic lathes.

A method is developed for optimizing the tool distribution within a multispindle automatic lathe on the basis of a mathematical model in which the influence of tools at longitudinal and transverse supports on the dimensional precision is taken into account. That permits calculation of the tool distribution over the positions within the lathe so as to ensure maximum machining productivity.
