Partial cross sections have been measured for the 143Nd(nth, e) 14~ reaction and also for the two-step process 143Nd(nth, 7e) 14~The results of the present work confirm previous data, but due to lower background, better statistics and resolution improved precision has been obtained. The double-humped structure in the observed (n, ~ e) spectrum can still be explained through the Porter-Thomas fluctuations of the reduced partial 7 and e widths.
Abstract. The decays of high spin states in 39K, populated in the reactions 28Si (160, ~p) and 25Mg(160, pn), have been measured for oxygen beam energies between 30 and 50 MeV.Using the recoil distance Doppler shift method, mean lifetimes were determined for the states at 2814keV (r=62+5 ps), 3597 (51+4ps), 3943 (ll.4+l.6ps), 4830 (19+5 ps), 5715 (<3ps), 6473 (11.9+0.5 ps), and 8028 (10<~<50ps), respectively. Possible spin assignments and transition rates for these levels will be discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
