Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become the mainstream for business activities whereby innumerable organizations rank companies based on the performance of their CSR activities, and these rankings are considerably of public interests. CSR appears as an inevitable concern for business leaders in every country. Given the substantial funds for the implementation of CSR initiatives, the top management of corporations require that CSR initiatives must be successfully implemented to contribute to the target group. Therefore, it is important to know the critical success factors and challenges of CSR initiatives. Thus, this study aims to identify the critical success factors and challenges in the implementation of CSR initiatives from the perspective of employees from four selected corporate foundations. Data was obtained through questionnaire survey and analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software. The analysis shows that strategic factors contribute the most to the implementation of critical success factors of CSR initiatives then followed by marketing, human resources, finance and the environment factors. Meanwhile, there is no significant difference in the perception of critical success factors among the four selected corporate foundations. In the other hand, analysis found that the highest mean value of CSR initiative challenge is due to high cost and complicated implementation, and provide no immediate business profit. This study is expected to provide an effective guide for CSR practices in the corporate sector.
There is a need for a sustainable life . However, this dream will not become a reality without the constant efforts from various dominant parties. In achieving the goals for well being, business firms are the most important entities through their implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Stakeholders involvement in the planning and implementation of CSR need to be properly structured. An integrative approach needs to be applied in order to ensure the sustainability issues being addressed. Hence, this paper analyzes and describes the application of an integrative approach in the planning and implementation of CSR activities in the banking sector. The banking sector is an important sector which provides access and financing facilities to organizations and individuals. The ability of the national economy is also dependent on the integrity of our financial institutions. However, besides the role and contribution of these companies there are still issues that scratch the image and credibility of the company, such as the issue of non-transparency and not directly contribute to the erosion of the environment through the financing of projects that affect the environment. It is therefore essential that the issue of sustainability and the implementation of CSR into core activities in banking operations to gain the confidence of stakeholders. It is expected to provide a guidance to the banking sector in planning and implementing CSR activities in a more organized and holistic manner.
The pandemic COVID-19 has transformed traditional face-to-face learning into online learning. Implementation of online education is vital to stop the spread of the virus. Nevertheless, despite the advantages offered by online learning, it also presents challenges to students living in rural areas. The present study aims to explore the insight of online learning among rural students. Therefore, this study explores qualitative insight to obtain in-depth knowledge of online learning in rural areas. This study conducted an online survey with 21 students in rural areas. The qualitative content analysis produced four relevant themes of online learning: easy-to-find information, internet disruption, lack of focus, and difficult understanding. This study contributes to online learning literature in a rural area context.
Sustainability has long been discussed in many perspectives considering its importance to our lives. The practices embedded in Sustainability must consistently be done to achieve the goals that have been set in the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) especially to fight a climate change and to create the sustainable cities and communities. To practise sustainability successfully, people should be aware and have a better understanding of sustainability issues and practices. Thus, this paper intends to look at the trends and issues in the awareness and perception towards sustainability. A conceptual paper in nature, this study reviewed past research works which included the perception and awareness of sustainability. This paper gathered study patterns and accessed the findings from multiple previous studies. Based on the findings, the awareness of sustainability was found to sustainability principles among the society. Education is recognised to have played a significant role of increasing the awareness of sustainability. Hopefully, this study will shed a light on the perspective of awareness and the perception towards sustainability from many different angles, which perhaps could lead to a new direction of study on this topic.
