Sport represents a domain where various functions and effects can be manifested. The sports industry today is characterized by modern technology, especially in the sphere of manufacturing sports props and equipment, which significantly helps its development and progress. The sports industry today exists within the social-economic achievements and power of a society. In essence, it should adapt to the new living conditions, work conditions and the conditions in which business is being conducted. Today, it is necessary to invest more in the offer of the sports industry (athletes, results, equipment, equipment, facilities, diagnostics ...), in order to be more efficient in the form of the final product on the market. The industry must adapt to the conditions of the world market (supply and demand). That is why it is sometimes necessary to also expand the range of constituents in order to win a medal – achieve a top sports result. This article will analyze the phenomenon of the modern sports industry as a business model, its production and the realization of the necessary conditions for achieving top sports results and winning medals at big competitions. Naturally, without unity between numerous external and internal factors no top sports results can be achieved. The authors also deal with an analysis of the factors of the sports industry.
The aim of this research was to determine the relations of fitness parameters and morphological characteristics of seven-year-old obese children. The sample of participants consisted of 103 obese children (63 girls and 40 boys), first grade students (mean age 7,04 years) of the elementary schools in Nis. The following fitness parameters were measured: HR in load, VO2max, resting HR, bend forward -bend backward -throw test, hand taping, 20m dash with a standing start, Abalakov test and forward bend on the bench test. Morphological characteristics were determined by measuring 13 parameters of longitudinal and transversal dimensions of the skeleton, volume and body weight, as well as subcutaneous fat tissue. For all of the data we calculated the Mean and standard deviation (SD). A canonical correlation analysis was used to determine the relations between the set of variables representing fitness parameters and the set of variables of morphological characteristics. Based on the coefficients of the canonical correlation analysis, it can be concluded that the spaces of morphological characteristics and fitness parameters are interconnected with two pairs of statistically significant canonical factors (p˂.05 and p˂.01). The general analysis of the relationships between the first pair of canonical factors suggests that participants with higher circular dimensionalities of the body, accentuated adiposity and body mass tend to have poorer results in motoring tasks requiring body flexibility, explosive leg strength and running speed, and also have poorer results in the parameters of cardiorespiratory fitness. It can be concluded that obesity in younger school age has negative implications on the fitness parameters in children, and therefore on their overall growth and development.
The aim of the study was to investigate the correlation between the tendency to manifest psychosomatic reactions and procrastination in students of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, as well as to examine the differences in the tendency to manifest psychosomatic symptoms and procrastination in relation to gender and age. The study involved 459 students from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Niš, of which 25 subjects with chronic diseases (asthma, allergies, diabetes, etc.) were excluded from the study. Subjects completed the Psychosomatic Symptoms Scale (PSS) (Vulić-Prtorić, 2005, 2016) and Procrastination Assessment Scale (PASS) Solomon & Rothblum, 1984. The results showed that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the tendency to exhibit pseudoneurological, cardiovascular-respiratory, gastrointestinal and pain-musculoskeletal symptoms and procrastination, a statistically significant positive correlation between age and the frequency of pseudoneurological symptoms, as well as a statistically significant correlation between age and procrastination rate. We also found that women were more likely to exhibit psychosomatic problems than men.
Due to the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) from March 16th to May 18th 2020. the lectures at the Faculty of Sports and Psysical Education, University of Niš, took place exclusively through online learning platforms. The faculties of sports and physical education are content-wise and methodogically specific in comparison to other faculties. The aim of this study is to identify the degree to which students were able to complete their academic commitments, what their motivation for learning was, what variables affected their ability to do so, and how anxious they were throughout the epidemic. In total, 364 students from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, representing all undergraduate and graduate academic years, took part in the online study. The research was conducted using a questionnaire consisting of self-assessment of mastered material in all subjects (five-point scale), the degree of motivation for distance learning (five-point scale), questions about factors that hindered students in learning and anxiety scales (AT-29, Tovilović and Novović, 2009). The results show that 68.6% of students managed to fulfill more than 60% of the obligations from the course per year. The largest number of students was mostly motivated (51.3%), while 17.9% were highly motivated for online learning. Less than 10% of all respondents were not motivated at all (7.4%). The largest number of students (42.6%) fulfilled their academic obligations in the percentage of 60 to 80%, while 33% of students fulfilled their obligations between 80 and 100%. The research showed that the biggest obstacle in online learning is the lack of direct contact and communication between students with colleagues and professors (36%), as well as technical problems, which represent a barrier for 16.8% of respondents. The results showed that there is a statistically significant difference in the degree of anxiety between male and female students (Sig. = .001), with higher values of anxiety recorded in female students.
SummaryThe aim of this paper was to determine the athletes’ attitudes about fair play in sports, ie to determine whether there are differences in the athletes’ attitudes towards fair play in sports concerning gender, professional or amateur sports status, and length of participation in sport. Also, the research aimed to formulate an adequate questionnaire to assess athletes’ attitudes towards fair play. The sample of subjects consisted of 150 respondents. The results showed that there is a statistically significant difference in the intensity of athletes’ attitudes towards fair play concerning the gender of the respondents in all three subscales of the questionnaire (aggressiveness in the game, orientation towards victory, and orientation towards enjoying the game). It was found that there is a statistically significant difference in the intensity of athletes’ attitudes in relation to professional or amateur sports status (sig. =.001). It was also found that there is no statistically significant difference in the intensity of athletes’ attitudes about fair play in sports in relation to the length of participation in sports (sig. =.698). A questionnaire with a high degree of internal consistency was constructed (Cronbach alpha =.821).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
