Image fusion is an imperative approach of integrating relevant information from the set of images that may be captured from different sensors, acquired at different time or having different spatial or spectral characteristics. The objective of image fusion technique is to acquire more enhanced, reliable, efficient vignette and minimize redundancy in the output fused image while maximizing relevant information specific to desired application or task. Image fusion play an important role in the area of medical imaging, disaster monitoring, satellite imaging, environmental monitoring, land use/cover change detection, surveillance etc. This paper focuses on the development of an image fusion method using morphological operator like and, or, Erosion, Dilation operator. Consistent analysis of techniques will help in deciding the suitability of a particular technique towards the fusion of large number of images. The results show the proposed algorithm has a better visual quality than the base methods. Also the quality of the fused image has been evaluated using a set of quality metrics.
Pain has always been a distressing feeling or the unpleasant sensory and emotional experience. A pain free life is longing of everyone and this is the biggest challenge for the medical science practitioners nowadays as how to provide efficient pain management. In modern medicine we have variety of pain-relieving medications that works brilliantly for short period of time and when used for longer duration they come up with various side effects. So there is a need to find a way to relieve pain without much suffering to the patient and Agnikarma is one of the sound ways to do so. It is therapeutic burning with special tools on specific sites according to the disease. It is a parasurgical procedure that is utilized as curative procedure, or as postoperative procedure or in hemostatic manner. Agnikarma is derived from Ayurveda, a renowned Indian system of medicine, which is procedure used generally for the management of pain and also for curing various disorders. In Ayurveda Vata Dosha is responsible mainly for various types of Ruja or pain in the body and Agnikarma is one of the best method to pacifying Vata and Kapha Dosha and hence relieves pain. Acharya Sushruta, a renowned Vedic Indian surgeon has very well explained the eminence of Agnikarma by saying that the recurrence of disease will not be there if once they are treated with Agnikarma. He in his text mentioned various Dravyas according to the diseases through which Agnikarma can be performed. Also several Dahanaupkarana are mentioned in the classics that provide practitioner abundant methods to perform Agnikarma without much limitations
Katishool, low back ache (lumbago) is the most common problem in middle and old age people hampering the normal activity. There are several reasons associated with the pain such as – neurological, metabolic, degenerative, traumatic, bad posture, restless lifestyle, etc. Gridhasi is one of the Nanatmaja Vata Vyadhi, characterised by Katishool where the site of pain starts from the Sphika (back region) and then radiates to Kati, Pristha, Uru, Janu, Jangha, Pada in order. The signs and symptoms mentioned in ayurvedic texts resembles the medical condition named sciatica. Sciatica describes leg pain that is localised in the distribu-tion of one or more lumbosacral nerve roots, typically L4-S2, with or without neurological deficit. This causes abnormality in the gait of the patient. Gridhasi being a dominant lifestyle disorder needs a proper management and Siravedhan is one of the propitious managements of Gridhasi described in Ayurveda classics. Acharya Sushruta explained the importance of Siravedhan by accepting it as Ardha Chikitsa (half of the therapeutic measure) in Shalya tantra like Basti in Kayachikitsa. Acharya Sushruta also mentioned that the diseases which are not relieved so quickly by Snehana, Lepanadi measure, in this Siravedhan do wonders by acting as an emergency management to achieve good results.
Avbahuka is a disease caused by vitiation of Vatadosha in the Ansa Pradesha or Ansa Sandhi (shoulder joint). It affects the Bahugata Siras by constricting them, further causing Shoola (pain), and Bahupraspanditahara (stiffness) causing restriction in the motion of shoulder joint. The symptomatology of disease Avbahuka closely resembles frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis in modern medical science. The hallmark sign of this disease is severe pain especially when the patient moves the affected arm. Also, gradually there is restriction in the range of motion of shoulder joint. This is a disease that highly hampers one’s way of living by causing hindrances in personal and professional life both. So, there is a need to find immediate relief as well as long lasting effective treatment for the patient. The present single case study was done to evaluate the efficacy of Agnikarma and Balamoolghanvati in the treatment of disease Avbahuka. The study was carried out at Shalya Tantra OPD of Gurukul Campus, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. A female patient came up with complaint of pain and stiffness along with loss of motion of right shoulder joint since last 1 year. After taking the history and doing the necessary investigations she was diagnosed as a case of frozen shoulder. Agnikarma and Balamoolghanvati was advised to patient for duration of 2 months. Proper assessment before, during and after treatment was done with follow up period of 1 month. Patient got significant relief just after the treatment only and after 15 days the range of motion gradually increased without much pain in the joint. The symptoms almost got dwindled after the 2 months of study with contentment to the patient.
