We report a facile method for the synthesis of Li(0.3)La(0.57)TiO3 by forming a coagulated precursor solution which contains Li(+), La(3+), and TiO2 nanoparticles mixed highly homogeneously. The grain and overall conductivities of the synthesized Li(0.3)La(0.57)TiO3 are comparable to the values in literature for the material prepared by other methods.
The copper chelate of ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid is studied polarographically, potentiometrically and spectrophotometrically over the pH range 3-5-1 3.5 in various high concentrations of sulphate. A marked change in the polarographic reduction of the chelate is observed in strongly alkaline solutions and this is shown to be associated with an acidic ionization, CuY2-+ OH-+ Cu(OH)Y3-, in which it is suggested that the co-ordination number of copper increases from 4 to 5. The significance of observed changes in the polarographic reduction of the chelate is discussed. The copper chelate of ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) is stable over a very wide pH range (above pH 2.5) and, having a high stability constant (PK 18.4), provides a suitable form in which to determine EDTA, particularly in the presence of other metallic ions. The polarographic reduction of Cu2+ to Cu in aqueous solutions of EDTA has been studied by Pecsok,l who has suggested various electrode reactions for the reduction at different pH values. A polarographic method for the determination of EDTA as its copper chelate has been described by Furness, Crawshaw and Davies,2 the method requiring the removal of excess cupric ions.
A Facile Method for the Synthesis of the Li 0.3 La 0.57 TiO 3 Solid State Electrolyte. -Li 0.3 La 0.57 TiO 3 is prepared by forming a coagulated precursor solution with a highly homogeneous Li + , La 3+ , and TiO 2 nanoparticle mixture by dispersing stoichiometric amounts of TiO 2 in an aqueous LiO-Ac/La(O-Ac) 3 solution followed by freeze drying the coagulate and heating at 750 C for the removal of crystallization H 2 O and La/Li oxide formation. The grain and overall conductivities of the synthesized Li 0.3 La 0.57 TiO 3 are 10 -4 and 10 -5 S/cm, resp., and thus comparable to the literature values for the material prepared by other methods. -(ZHANG, Q.; SCHMIDT, N.; LAN, J.; KIM, W.; CAO*, G.; Chem. A method for the determination of total and available ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in solutions containing the calcium or magnesium chelates is described. The solution is titrated amperometrically with zinc sulfate at a low pH for total ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. The available ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is determined at a higher pH when calcium is not displaced from its chelate. If magnesium is present, glycine is added to prevent the zinc displacing the magnesium from its chelate with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.
