This study considers treatment of real city rain sewage under the action of an oxygen dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at atmospheric pressure in the presence or absence of TiO 2 catalyst in the plasma zone. The DBD discharge has been shown to have high decomposition efficiency (up to 98%) for oil hydrocarbons, phenols and synthetic surfactants. The discharge action resulted in the decrease of heavy metal (Pb, Cd, Fe, Mn) content as well. In a plasma-catalytic hybrid process, the efficiency of organic substances decomposition was higher than efficiency for the DBD treatment without catalyst.
In recent years the COVID pandemic has influenced education significantly. The pace of digital transformation is very fast and requires a change of mindset. Translators or cross-language mediators have to work at the focal point of various information transfer processes. We think that a digital mindset of a future translator can be created by re-contextualising classroom communication reality with online teaching tools that will ensure synchronous and asynchronous studies. The challenges of online resources variety can be responded to by classifying them according to L2 communicative competence and translation competence structural components. Thus the choice of sources can be narrowed down according to specific teaching objectives. The research proposes a classification of online resources for mediation competence development which is a communicative competence component according to CEFR. Classification categories include online teaching tools that can help develop (1) skills of mediating concepts, texts, communication; (2) strategies of explaining new concepts and strategies of text simplification. The classification is used to work out a few sample activities for an L2 course within translation curriculum. It is assumed that the classification and sample activities will help teachers be more flexible facing distance learning challenges in translation teaching.
With the increase in implanting the information and computing technologies into learning during 1990-2020s, it has become obvious that e-learning is going to become both a global tendency and a crucial change in the quality, form and methodology of education. The pandemic of COVID 19 with its massive global shift to distance learning brought to focus the need to revise the strategies and policies in education in general and the critical importance for appropriate digital training for university teachers in particular to boost their readiness, preparedness and ability to adapt to the changing conditions of the educational environment. The study shows that the teacher’s skills to create high-quality basic content for distance learning are crucial for successful teaching online. The plethora of conditions, criteria and factors affecting the quality of educational content for effective online teaching is examined. The article details the stages and principles of designing the basic content of an e-learning course. Using text editors and information visualization tools as examples the authors propose practical recommendations for content development. The study brings to focus some key concepts of e-learning methodology. The authors imply that to create quality content, a teacher needs knowledge and skills in pedagogical design, computing, time management and online communication. The proposed principles for the basic educational content development and criteria suggested have and educators involved in e-courses development, as well as to a wide range of users.
