Learning results are influenced by several factors, including learning strategies. Islamic values-integrated learning is one of the strategies that can be applied to improve students' learning results. Science learning integrated with Islamic values provides the opportunity for students to relate the science knowledge with their concepts and experiences in real life as Muslims, so that students can feel that their learning is meaningful. This research is a quasi-experimental research aims to investigate the effect of science learning integrated with Islamic values on students' learning results. The learning materials taught in this research were substances and the changes, temperature and heat, and energy in living systems. The population of this research was seventh grade students of Islamic Junior High School (MTs) in West Lombok, Indonesia, which were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The data were analysed using ANCOVA. The results of this research showed that science learning integrated with Islamic values had a significant effect on students' learning results with p = 0.032, and its' corrected mean score was 15.196 % higher than that of the students taught by using the conventional learning.
The abilities of students can affect learning outcomes. One capability that is closely related to learning outcomes is the ability to think logically which improves students’ understanding of knowledge. This study aims to determine cognitive learning outcomes and logical thinking ability of students in science subjects through the guided inquiry learning model. The quasi-experimental research was conducted with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of seventh grade of Miftahul Ishlah Islamic Junior high School in Mataram-Lombok.The sample was determined by cluster random sampling technique. The subjective test and the rubric of logical thinking ability were instruments used. Data were analyzed using SPSS MANCOVA, which preceded the prerequisite test, ie test for normality and homogeneity. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning model had a significant effect on the student's cognitive learning outcomes and logical thinking ability with p = 0.000, and its’ corrected mean score of learning outcomes was 95%, and corrected mean score of logical thinking ability was 71%, higher than that of student in the conventional learning model.
Retention of learning results is a measurement of students’ ability to remember the lesson being learned after an amount of time before. This research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the Brain-Based Learning Model (BBL) integrated with the Whole Brain Teaching (WBT) model on the retention of students’ learning results. This research was a quasi-experiment using a posttest-only control group design. The population of this research was the students of State Junior High Schools in Malang in the 2017/2018 academic year. The samples were selected from State Junior High School 1, State Junior High School 4, State Junior high School 6, State Junior High School 8, State Junior High School 15, State Junior High School 17, Junior high school 25, and Junior High School 26. The results of the data analysis showed that the learning model provides a significant effect on the retention of students’ science learning in Junior High schools in Malang. LSD notation shows that the effect of the WBT model integrated BBL model on student learning retention is lower as much as 6,79% and significantly different compared to the WBT model. The effect of that model is significantly different from the effect of BBL learning but higher as much as 8,06% and significantly different compared to the effect of the BBL learning model as well as higher (14,12%) and significantly different compared to the effect of conventional learning.
The microalgae community structure in an aquatic ecosystem is strongly influenced by environmental factors. One of the rivers in Indonesia, located inhe island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is the Jangkok River. The Jangkok River is widely used by residents for activities, including industry, cultivation, waste disposal, and others. This study aimed to determine the structure of microalgae community in Jangkok River. This research was carried out with an exploration descriptive method by quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’), Uniformity index (E) and Dominance index (d). The results showed that the diversity of microalgae was categorized as moderate (H' = 2.66), uniformity index (E = 0.66), and the dominance index indicate that there were no dominant species with a value (D = 0.13).
Water is the main and most important need for living things. The water consumed must meet the physical, chemical, bacteriological requirements, and be free from Coliform bacteria contamination. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the bacteriological quality of the spring water in the Mumbul Sari Village community, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency. The data collection technique used a filter membrane with Colony Forming Units (CFU/100ml). The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Mumbul Sari spring in North Lombok Regency was contaminated with Coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria with values exceeding the quality standards set by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The MPN Coliform value of springs used by women is higher than that of springs used by men (300 CFU/100ml > 250 CFU/100 ml). Similarly, the number of Escherichia coli bacteria (50 CFU/100ml > 12 CFU/100ml).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
