This article examines the changes taking place in Cuban agriculture at the local level as a result of the demise of the socialist trading bloc and Cuba's subsequent economic crisis. Based on fieldwork in three municipalities of Cuba, the authors describe new developments in each of the three main sectors of Cuban agriculture: state farms, production co-operatives and individual peasant producers. They conclude that the dominant trend of this period is the tendency toward decentralisation of the state farm sector -culminating in the historic September 1993 decision to form production co-operatives on the state farms -counterpoised to renewed attempts to impose greater state control over peasant producers. Overall, they find a good deal of experimentation and heterogeneity in the actual implementation of state policy at the local level.
This research uses regenerative medicine in degenerative arthropathy for sport, intending to demographically evaluate this population, general variables, and individuals of interest were assessed. In the percentage statistical analysis for the interpretation of results was obtained from the general variables, the predominance for males in the group of former athletes in the age range of 41 to 50 years, grade II of knee ostearthrosis as the region of anatomical location, and the most affected degree, the time of manifestation of the disease the eldest of the year of evolution, the over-use as an incidence factor for the onset of injury in the group of most affected sports treated, and as a treatment of implanted regenerative medicine most employed platelet-rich plasma (PRP). In particular variables of interest, the predominance in training, and the training cycle for the occurrence of the injury, and the competitive stage for athletes, and the general stage for former athletes, was obtained from the location for the occurrence of the injury.
This article presents the results of a 1991 household income survey of the three main groups in Cuban agriculture: wage workers on state farms, members of production co‐operatives, and peasant producers. It is shown that since the 1959 revolution household income levels in the agricultural sector have improved dramatically, while regional differences have been ameliorated considerably. Households in the private sector of Cuban agriculture have fared the best. It is also demonstrated that agricultural households rely on multiple sources of income to generate their livelihood. Rather than being strictly proletarian, collective, or petty commodity producers, these households are best characterized by the multiple class relations in which they participate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
