The emphasis on entrepreneurship by the Malaysian government clearly displays their effort in strengthening the entrepreneurial development in the country, which is expected to boost the economy by creating more jobs and generating new incomes. The idea is extended to local higher education institutions so as to nurture and to sustain entrepreneurial engagement among the students through formal entrepreneurial programs. The initiatives are expected to help in reducing graduate unemployment level in the country. Despite all the effort taken by the government, the uptake of entrepreneurship among young minds is still low, and there is growing unemployment in the country. Thus, this study aims to determine the factors that affect entrepreneurial intentions among UiTM graduating students and the mediating effect of entrepreneurship education towards entrepreneurial intention through attitude, perceived behaviour control and self-efficacy. The sample consists of 429 UiTM students who have taken the entrepreneurship course. Factor analysis and Partial Least Squares methods were used to analyse the data. The findings reveal a significant relationship of attitude, perceived behaviour control and entrepreneurship education towards entrepreneurial intention, while self-efficacy was insignificantly related. However, the study found that entrepreneurship education partially mediates the relationship between attitude and perceived behaviour control towards entrepreneurship intention and a full mediation on self-efficacy. The findings will help the policymakers or the higher education institutes in developing a suitable policy and program in promoting entrepreneurship to the university graduates at the national level. Keywords: Entrepreneurial intention, IBM, Partial Least Squares, TPB.
Slope stability involves developing a terrain slope profile and determining the geometry of the failure surface to compute the slope factor of safety. Terrain capture and reconstruction traditionally has been expensive, time consuming and manpower intensive. This innovative method utilizing unmanned aerial system technology alongside the advancement in graphics processing can be proven as more effective and cost efficient. This research aims to develop a method to forecast the occurrence of landslide by utilizing drone technology. The objectives are to obtain data on terrain slope, create 3D model of the land, then perform analysis on the slope stability. Drone technology equipped with high accuracy GPS system captures high resolution aerial images of a land area for mapping. The data obtained is uploaded into computer software to generate the 3D model of the land. Then, the critical details such as contours or the elevations can be extracted. This information is transferred into an alternative software such as GeoStudio to analyze the stability of slope. Thus, the results can be used to predict the level of safety of the terrain slope and taken for further safety measures involving the particular area.
This qualitative study is an exploratory attempt at understanding destination image through the writings of the travel writers who have undergone the familiarisation or fam programs organised by Tourism Malaysia. The idea behind the program is for the writers to experience first-hand specific destinations in Malaysia and then expressed their experiences through their travel writings. The data in the form of the travel articles were collected with the assistance of Tourism Malaysia based on the suggested criteria established. This study established that it was possible to derive destination image by interpreting the depth of the articles and through the expressions of the travel writers who very often narrated their experiences coherently through vivid depictions and emotions. It is suggested that future studies further test the evolving themes through empirical analyses that are more conclusive and statistically proven.
Numerous businesses in any country, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), have been forced to close due to their government's decision to impose a movement control order (MCO) to contain the Pandemic. Unfortunately, this most recent COVID-19 puts the majority of SMEs in danger of increased debt and makes it more difficult to conduct business as usual. Change is necessary for these conditions. All entrepreneurs in small and mediumsized businesses seek to execute change and be resilient, but they face numerous barriers. As a result, training effectiveness may be more beneficial to an entrepreneur because this need relates to competencies, self-congruency, and self-determination. Effective training occurs when trainees use their knowledge in the workplace, resulting in major changes. It is crucial since it is offered periodically, resulting in significant increases in entrepreneurs' performance and resilience. This study aims to determine the impact of change management and training effectiveness on entrepreneurs' resilience during the COVID 19 transition period to assist entrepreneurs in overcoming their fear of failure and developing resilience and self-regulation abilities to deal with adversity. The conceptual model was developed based on social cognitive theory. According to social cognitive theory's concept of reciprocal determinism, an entrepreneur might function simultaneously as an agent of change and a responder to change. The effectiveness of an entrepreneur's training, in conjunction with environmental changes, can promote resilient behavior and attitude.
The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the effect of gender on students’ entrepreneurial intention (EI) as well as the determinants of the EI. This research integrated the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Integrated Behavioural Model in adapting the variables in determining the intention. This paper has two objectives, initially it aims to contribute to the literature on EI by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TBP) and Integrated Behavior Model (IBM) to the Malaysian settings. Then, it investigated the effect of gender on Attitude, Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) and Self Efficacy (SE) towards behavior on students’ entrepreneurial intention in the future. The sample consists of 429 UiTM students who have taken the entrepreneurship course. The data was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.3.7. The findings of this study revealed that gender has no significant relationship with students’ EI, attitude, PBC and SE towards students’ entrepreneurial intention. In terms of the integrated model, the findings discovered that attitude and PBC have a statistically significant relationship with EI. However, SE does not have a significant relationship towards EI. The findings will help the policymakers or the higher education institutes in developing a suitable policy and program in promoting entrepreneurship to the university graduates at the national level.
