Abstract. This paper is developed as a means to discover the importance of improving service quality within the Malaysian Hotel Industry. To support that contention it was found that there are a number of methodologies or approaches that can be used to improve service delivery. Recent publications show that there is an emerging methodology sought to improve employee performance and one of the approaches are known as Internal Market Orientation. The Internal Market Orientation model consists of three dimensions and they are: i) Internal Market Intelligence Generation (IMIG), ii) Internal Communication (IC), and iii) Response to Intelligence (RTI). Despite of that this study will only highlight the third dimensions of the framework that is Response to Intelligence. A number of conclusive findings were found and it can be used to enhance employee performance and it is as well has the ability to improving the quality of service towards hotel guests. Notwithstanding, the findings of this study can be used to improve the competitive advantage of Malaysian Hotels and therefore, assisting the country to achieve competitiveness and leads to the creation of premier tourist destination in the world.
This study is conducted to investigate the effectiveness and readiness of teaching and learning among students during the pandemic (COVID-19) towards the online learning among hospitality and tourism students. A quantitative method was employed and students from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management Penang Campus were chosen as the target sample. The sample size for this study was 430 and a total of 360 questionnaires were successfully collected with the return rate of 83.72%. Descriptive analysis was used to interpret the demographic data, Pearson Correlation analysis was employed to examine the correlation among variables, and multiple regression analysis was used to measure the overall relationship between independent and dependent variables. From these analyses, the three (3) variables (social presence, cognitive presence, and teaching presence) were found to have positive relationships with a student’s learning experience. Overall, this study is important to fellow academicians, academic researchers, and practitioners in improving their methods of teaching and learning, assisting the students, and strengthening their teaching techniques in online learning.
This study theoretically analyzes factors influencing consumers' continuance usage intention towards food delivery application in Kuang, Selangor using Unified Theory Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The study was necessitated by food delivery application usage blooms during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study used quantitative techniques, and a sample survey of 456 Kuang's respondents who have experience in using food delivery applications were employed in this study; as a result, 404 responses were successfully gathered, representing 88.59 percent. In conducting the reliability and validity analysis, 378 responses were found to be fit to be used for further analysis, and 26 responses were eliminated due to the data-cleaning process. The finding reveals that performance expectancy was identified to have the strongest positive influence on consumers' intention to continually use food delivery applications, followed by social influence. This study is deemed important in understanding consumer behavior intention towards the usage of food delivery applications. This is invaluable to food operators as the world economy relies on information technology. In other words, the future of businesses was strongly believed to be dominated by information technology. In conclusion, this study has a role in improving food operators' service and profit.
