This study aimed to identify diabetes risk factors in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and explain why diabetes is rapidly spreading there, which examined some sociodemographic characteristics factors that might affect type 2 diabetes such as age, gender, alcohol consumption, and smoking, diabetes family history, and body weight. The data was collected from the hospital of diabetes named the center of diabetes in Sulaymaniyah city of Iraq, in which 218 diabetic cases were used for that purpose. According to the findings, some factors influence type 2 diabetes, such as Gender, Smoking, and Body Weight. For Gender, Females are more likely to have diabetes than males. Also, someone that smokes is more likely to have diabetes than those who do not smoke. Furthermore, with increasing each kilogram of body weight, the diabetes degree increases as well. On the other hand, regarding the results, some factors such as Age, Consumption of Alcoholic, and Diabetes Family History do not affect type 2 diabetes. Depending on the findings, it is recommended that people engage in regular physical activity and consume nutritious foods to minimize weight gain, which is one of the primary causes of diabetes as well as they should quit smoking.
The main purpose of this study was to show the role of management information system application in improving the performance of the public universities in Sulaimani city of Iraq. The study's sample consists of (200) of administrative employees from all the public universities in the city. The most important conclusion of the research is that all predicted variables of (System and Information Quality, Customer Satisfaction, User Training, Organizational Leadership, and Organization Services Quality) are significant and toward positive effect on the response variable which is Organization Performance of public universities. Furthermore, the results show that (System and Information Quality) and (Organization Services Quality) have the most and the least effects on the Organization Performance respectively. Likewise, the correlation coefficient between Organization Performance and each of the predicted variables is positive with a moderate level of power, and the most powerful relationship was between (Organization Performance) and (System and Information Quality). In order to more effectively and successfully implement the management information system of the universities and to increase the organization's and employee's performance, it is suggested to the universities management to upgrade the existing management information system continuously and have a training program for all administrative staff of the university.
The panel data models have gained great attention because they consider the effect of changing time series and the cross-sectional units. It has a higher number of degrees of freedom and is, therefore, more efficient. Our research aims to build the most efficient model using panel data through comparison among six statistical models and to determine the most efficient model through the mean squares of error (RMSE) and the coefficient of determination (R2). Using the EViews-12 package to apply to two data sets to determine the most efficient model. The more critical findings are that the hypothesis assumed by the research states that the accuracy of the adopted models varies. Furthermore, it was found by building six types of panel data models that the best model is the (Two-way Fixed Effect Model) because it achieves the lowest value of (RMSE) and the largest value of R2.
The purpose of this study was to determine faculty members' attitudes toward online learning in Kurdistan region universities. The study examined the biographic and personal characteristics of the lecturer towards e-learning. The data was collected among faculty members at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, and to analyze the data, a full factorial design with five main factors at two levels and no central points was applied for this specific purpose. The study's findings indicated that there was no significant relationship between gender and lecturer attitude towards e-learning. In comparison to teachers with an MSc degree, those with a PhD have a more negative attitude toward e-learning. Furthermore, full-time faculty members have a greater positive effect on teachers' attitudes than part-time lecturers. Likewise, the results indicate that lecturers who earned their most recent education degrees outside of Iraq have a more favorable attitude. Similarly, lecturers in the sciences are more favorable to e-learning than those in the arts and social sciences. In addition, the findings demonstrated that the interaction factors (Gender) and (Education Degree) have a negative effect on lecturers' attitudes when they are combined. Besides that, the interaction of factors (Country of Last Education Degree) and (Faculty Member Types) improves attitudes toward e-learning. Based on the results, it is suggested that academic staff receive e-learning training to deepen their knowledge and understanding of such a modern teaching system. There is also a need to enhance factors related to positive attitudes towards e-learning among university lecturers. The findings of this study are necessarily significant to both teachers and educational organizations in Kurdistan Region universities.
The First Attempt Exam is the first final exam for students after their first academic year to show their academic performance. According to the outcomes of our project, some factors influence students’ academic performance. These factors include (Sex, Car Ownership, Relationships, Smoking, Hours of Study, Facebook Use, Father Alive, Mother-Edu, and Father-Edu). These factors have a high effect on the results of the First Attempts Exam. Furthermore, females are more likely to pass the first attempts exam than the males. Also, students with cars, relationships, who smoking, use Facebook regularly, and whose mothers have higherlevels of education are negatively affected by the student’s academic performance. On the other hand, mother alive, higher level education of father, and increasing one-hour daily study are positively affected on the students’ academic performance.
