One of the factors causing dental caries is the lack of children's knowledge resulting in a lack of awareness of children maintaining dental hygiene. To increase children's knowledge can promote dental health through child oral health education and mouth. The use of media is still less effective in health education that has been running. Therefore the need for innovation and development is to use media innovation "Heni's Dental Flannel Book." The study aimed to develop "Heni's Dental Flannel Book" media as a health education book and the effectiveness "Heni's Dental Flannel Book" for increasing the dental health care of Early Childhood Education Programs. Research and Development (R & D), there are ten stages of research, namely: information gathering, design models, validation expert, revision, product trial (Pre experiment with one group pre-test post-test, a sample of 15 children), modification, application trial (Quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design, a sample of 20 children in the intervention group and 20 children in the control group, final product revision, production of a product. Data were tested using ANOVA, Shapiro Wilk, Wilcoxon test, Mann-Whitney test. "Heni's Dental Flannel Book" is useful as an effort to increase dental and oral health care for Early Childhood Education Programs, as indicated by a p-value<0.001. Children's knowledge is characterized by a p-value<0.000, a child's attitude is shown by a p-value <0.000. There is a difference in the effectiveness of smart dental books and flipchart in increased dental and oral health care for children with a p-value of <0.000. “Heni’s Dental Flannel Book” effectively improve children's knowledge and attitudes
ABSTRAK Karies gigi paling banyak ditemukan pada anak usia sekolah. Pengetahuan anak yang kurang merupakan salah satu diantara faktor penyebab kerusakan gigi. Efek dari ini mengakibatkan kesadaran anak dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi menjadi kurang. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kesehatan gigi yaitu dengan upaya promotive dengan promosi kesehatan melalui penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pendidikan kesehatan gigi memerlukan media yang tepat. Diperlukan suatu inovasi untuk pengguanaan media yang terkini dan tepat untuk anak yaitu menggunakan inovasi media pillow book. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menguji media pillow book dalam meningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap kesehatan gigi anak sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimental dengan pre test and post test nonequivalent control group design. Tahapan penelitian yaitu pengukuran tingkat pengetahuan dan tindakan anak sebelum maupun sesudah penyuluhan menggunakan media pillow book pada kelompok intervensi sedangkan kelompok kontrol dengan flipchart. Uji data normalitas dengan shapiro wilk, dilanjutkan dengan wilcoxon test dan mann-whitney test. Hasil uji efektivitas data berpasangan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap anak menunjukkan bahwa nilai p-value kelompok intervensi adalah 0,000 (p <0,05) artinya pillow book efektif. Sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol adalah 0,180 (p >0,05) artinya media flipchart tidak efektif. Kesimpulan bahwa untuk meningkatan pengetahuan maupun sikap anak sekolah dasar lebih efektif menggunakan media pillow book daripada media flipchart. Lack of knowledge of children is one of the factors causing tooth decay. The effect of this results in less awareness of children in maintaining dental health. One way to improve dental health is through promotive efforts with health promotion through dental and oral health education. Dental health education requires the right media. An innovation is needed for the use of the latest and most appropriate media for children, namely using the pillow book media innovation. The aim of the study was to test the pillow book media in increasing the dental health knowledge and attitudes of elementary school children. The research method used was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. The stages of the research were measuring the level of knowledge and actions of children before and after counseling using pillow book media in the intervention group while the control group used flipcharts. Test data for normality with Shapiro Wilk, followed by Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. The results of the paired data effectiveness test in increasing children's knowledge and attitudes showed that the p-value of the intervention group was 0.000 (p <0.05) meaning that the pillow book was effective. Whereas in the control group it was 0.180 (p>0.05) meaning that flipchart media was not effective. The conclusion is that to increase the knowledge and attitudes of elementary school children it is more effective to use pillow book media than flipchart media. ABSTRAK Kesehatan yang perlu diperhatikan selain kesehatan tubuh secara umum yaitu, kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Upaya untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada anak memerlukan pendam;pingan orang tua. Pendampingan orang tua pada dalam menggosok gigi diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam penurunan skor OHIS pada anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendampingan orang tua dalam menggosok gigi terhadap skor OHIS pada anak usia 6-7 tahun. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasy Experiment dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa SDN 01 Panjang Wetan 01 Pekalongan yang berjumlah 100 siswa. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 50 sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisa dilakukan dengan analisa univariat (distribusi frekuensi) dan analisa bivariat menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna skor OHI-S anak sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pendampingan orang tua dalam menggososk gigi, nilai p-value < 0.05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendampingan orang tua akan mempengaruhi kondisi kebersihan gigi dan mulut (OHI-S) pada anak. Efforts to maintain dental and oral health in children require parental assistance. Parents' assistance in brushing their teeth is expected to have a positive impact on reducing children's OHIS scores. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of parental assistance in brushing their teeth on the OHIS score in children aged 6-7 years. This research is an experimental study with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of SDN 01 Panjang Wetan 01 Pekalongan, totaling 100 students. The sample used was 50 samples with purposive sampling technique. Analysis was performed by univariate analysis (frequency distribution) and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in children's OHI-S scores before and after assisting parents in brushing their teeth, p-value <0.05. So it can be concluded parental assistance will affect the condition of dental and oral hygiene (OHI-S) in children. Keywords: Assistance; Brushing teeth; OHI-S
