Background: Anemia in adolescents is a global health problem, with prevalence in Southeast Asia reaching 27% -55% and 37.1% in Indonesia. Anemia in adolescents entails a negative impact, including fatigue, decreased concentration, growth problems, and long-term causes of anemia during pregnancy. Therefore, health education regarding anemia in adolescents is an effort to prevent and diminish the prevalence of anemia and anemia during pregnancy. Purpose: This study aims to describe adolescents' changes in knowledge and attitudes in preventing anemia after being treated with health education. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest technique with the control group. Samples were obtained through the total sampling of 20 female students as the experimental and 19 students as the control group. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon tests. Results: This study indicated the p-value of the knowledge variable p = 0.002 and the attitude variable p = 0.001 (<0.05). Conclusion: There is a change in educating female adolescents about anemia on knowledge and attitudes in preventing anemia. Health workers and schools are urged to improve adolescent reproductive health promotion, especially regarding anemia in female adolescents and its prevention.
Pencapaian program KIA dapat dilihat dari Laporan Pemantauan Wilayah Setempat (PWS) KIA yang pencatatannya dilakukan perbulan. Laporan pencatatan bulanan ini merupakan hal yang sangat penting, karena hasil laporan ini dapat dijadikan tolok ukur dalam menilai pengendalian masalah kesehatan di seluruh wilayah kabupaten atau kota. Pencatatan kesehatan ibu dan anak dilakukan di buku KIA atau buku kesehatan ibu dan anak, kohort ibu dan pencatatan lainnya. Pencatatan kohort ibu merupakan pencatatan kondisi kesehatan ibu dari sejak hamil sampai melahirkan dan bayinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pelaksanaan pencatatan dengan hasil pencatatan kohort ibu di wilayah puskesmas kabupaten Pekalongan. Jenis penelitian ini diskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan Cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah bidan di puskesmas kabupaten pekalongan, jumlah sampel 62 bidan dengan teknik pengambilan menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dan Cheklist untuk megetahui hasil pencatatan kohort. Analisa data menggunakan chi square untuk mengetahui hubungan 2 variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara pelaksanaan pencatatan dengan hasil pencatatan kohort ibu di puskesmas kabupaten Pekalongan dengan nilai p 0,792 (p>0,05). Saran hendaknya puskesmas melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi secara berkala terhadap kohort yang di laporkan oleh bidan, sehingga bidan dapat melaksanakan pencatatan kohort dengan baik.
Background The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted mothers’ and children's access to essential health services. Concerns about the transmission of COVID-19 to infants resulted in strict procedures, which then caused delays in initial contact and breastfeeding. This delay then impacted the well-being of mothers and babies. Purpose This study aimed to explore the experience of mothers with COVID-19 in breastfeeding. This study was qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Methods Participants were mothers with a confirmed history of COVID-19 during the breastfeeding period either in 2020, 2021, or 2022. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 21 mothers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results Three themes were obtained: breastfeeding during the mother was confirmed COVID-19, changes in the mother's condition, and social support received by the mother. Based on this theme, it can be seen that mothers are temporarily separated from their newborns, which causes breastfeeding difficulties. Mothers confirmed to have COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021 appear to have more significant concerns about transmitting COVID-19, as indicated by the mother's decision not to breastfeed and to undergo separate isolation with the baby. Conclusion Mothers need support to continue to breastfeed. The benefits obtained from breastfeeding are far more significant than efforts to prevent transmission by separating mother and baby, so mothers should be encouraged to continue breastfeeding.
Breast milk is the best food for babies aged 0-6 months and can be given until two years old with complementary food after the baby is 6 months old. Exclusive breastfeeding is a condition when a baby only receives breastmilk for six months. Exclusive breastfeeding is still a global problem because of the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. It can be optimized through social support, especially practical support. This scoping review aimed to map the literature, identify knowledge gaps, and review scientific evidence on practical support for breastfeeding mothers in achieving exclusive breastfeeding. The method of this review applied the Arksey and O'Malley’s framework. Four databases such as PubMed, Wiley Online Library, EBSCO, ScienceDirect and grey literature from google scholar were used to search relevant articles by using PEOS. The articles obtained were 1384 articles, and five articles matched the inclusion criteria. The critical appraisal for the five articles indicated four Grade A articles and one Grade B article. The research methods found in the articles were qualitative (60%), quantitative (20%) and mixed method (20%). In addition, three themes of the articles were found in this scoping review, namely the diverse forms of practical support, the benefits of practical support and the expected practical support. Practical support from husbands, families, health workers and communities is suggested for the mothers to achieve exclusive breastfeeding.
