Seaweed including thallus plants that are found almost all over the coast of Indonesia, especially on beaches that have coral reefs. Seaweed is a photosynthetic organism as well as plants on land. The fundamental difference of his life system is in the taking of food substances. Ground plants realy heavily on roots as a nutrient removal device from the substrate, while seaweed absorbs the nutrients needed for its growth from the water medium by diffusion through the surface of its physical substance. This study aims to determine the structure of seaweed communities in Limbah Island Waters, District Paguyaman Beach. The results showed that the waters of Limbah Island is dominated by brown seaweed with the highest species abundance was Padina australis. The highest index value of Seaweed diversity (H’) was found at station C with average: 1,854 and the lowest at station A with a mean of: 1,469. For uniformity index value (E) the highest value is at station C with average: 0,679 and the lowest at station A with a mean of: 0,668. The highest index value of dominance (C) is at station A with a mean of: 0,251 and the lowest value at station B with a mean of: 0,187. The result of the analysis of variance (Anova) showed that the research station give a significant difference (P≤0,05) to the Diversity Index (H’), Uniformity Index (E) and Domination Index (C).

The considerable diversity of seagrass species and morphological structures in Thalassia hemprchii and Cymodocea rotundata allows the growth of periphyton which can increase primary productivity. This study aims to determine the abundance of periphyton and its distribution patterns in the waters of Teluk Awur, Jepara. The study, which was conducted in July 2020, used a survey method and the location was selected using the purposive sampling method, while the seagrass data collection method used the line transect quadrant method which refers to the LIPI method. Seagrass leaves were collected for periphyton observations using the leaf sweep method, which was observed using the census method, namely total observation using the sedgwick rafter under a microscope. The abundance value of periphyton in Thalassia hemprichii seagrass leaves was 27,635 ind/cm2. While the abundance of periphyton in seagrass leaves of Cymodocea rotundata was 23,015 ind/cm2. The highest abundance of periphyton is found in the type of seagrass T. hemprichii, this is presumably because T. hemprichii has a wider leaf cross section. The dominant periphyton in Teluk Awur waters comes from the Bacillariophyceae class, presumably because this class has good adherence to the substrate. Based on the calculation of the Morisita Index, it is known that the distribution of periphyton in the waters of Teluk Awur, Jepara is dominated by a clustered distribution pattern. The abundance of periphyton and seagrass density on Parang Island is closely related.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the combination of tobacco leaf extract (Nicotiana tabacum) and green binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia steenis) against myiasis. The study used the in vitro method for testing, while the leaf extract was obtained using the immersion method. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a one-way pattern (One Way ANNOVA) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The test uses fresh beef samples that have been rotten for 6 days at room temperature. The fresh weight of each meat sample was 100 grams. The treatments were P0 (control: only water), P1 (100% tobacco), P2 (100% green binahong), P3 (50% tobacco: 50% green binahong), P4 (70% tobacco: 30 green binahong) and P5 (30% tobacco: 70% green binahong). The results observed in the study included the time (seconds) required for larvae to come out of the meat after spraying on each treatment, the death of myiasis larvae at 5, 10, 15, and 25 minutes. The results showed that treatment P4 got the best results. compared with other treatments with a significant difference at the level of p <0.05. Key words: Tobacco leaves, Binahong leaves, Myiasis, Animal health.
