Fly trap is a physical-mechanical method of controlling flies. Flies like food that is undergoing a process of fermentation and the protein contained in the food. Other alternative chemicals for fly control can take advantage of the phototropic properties of flies that are sensitive to a color, so researchers are interested in researching the effect of color variations and bait on the number of flies caught. This study aims to determine the effect of color variations and bait on fly traps on the number of trapped flies. The research used was a True Experiment with a 3x3 factorial design with 2 factors, namely the color factor and the bait. The tool used is a wooden fly trap in the form of a cube with a size of 30cmx30cm with the addition of color variations (yellow, white and green) and bait (shrimp, fish waste and chicken offal). Data were analyzed using factorial ANOVA statistical analysis with LSD (Least Significant Difference) Advanced Test. The results showed that the effect of color variation and bait on the fly trap had a value of p = 0.028 (0.05) which means there is an effect. Color variations and baits with the highest number of flies were yellow fly traps and shrimp baits with a total of 292 flies caught, while those that caught the least flies were yellow fly traps and fish waste baits with 29 flies caught. In conclusion, there is an effect of color variation and bait on the fly trap on the number of flies caught. Suggestions, that other researchers conduct research with variations in color, bait and shape and fly trap materials used.
