This study critically examined some of the justification for the contributory pension scheme as part of its values and determined their implications for public servants productivity and pensioners welfare in Lagos State. The methodology employed to achieve these objectives was carried out through primary source of information and personal interview. The primary source involved field survey that consists of administering questionnaire. The sample size is one hundred and twenty respondents (120). Simple random sampling method was used in administering the questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed statistically in form of tabular presentation with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21. Two hypotheses were tested. The result of the analyses reveals that there is significant relationship between adequate retirement package and employees' productivity and that it has a positive impact on the organization efficiency. Both empirical study and oral interview conducted however, found that the contributory pension scheme (CPS) has positive potentials over the defined benefits pension scheme (DBPS). Therefore, in other to enhance the workability and acceptance of the contributory pension scheme, it was recommended that stakeholders should be involved in the review of the scheme so as to streamline it and to adequately supervise operators' clients' sensitization programmes. Also, dissemination of appropriate information on the new pension scheme should be a continuous exercise. Thus, other States within Nigeria and some African countries can benefit from Nigeria's experience.
The concept of family business in Nigeria has become significantly attractive; its root is in sole proprietorship form of business. Family businesses have the unique strength to separate culture, language and personality. The research analyses the effect of interpersonal relationship on internationalisation and determines the extent to which succession planning affects internationalisation. Research presents that a positive relationship exists between internationalisation and interpersonal relationship. It has also been discovered that no positive relationship exists between succession planning and internationalisation. This study therefore concludes that family businesses which proceed to internationalisation enjoy growth in productivity, adequate brand awareness in the world, diversification of political and financial risks, as well as experience an increase in the share of the market, capital base, asset and open up opportunities in regional markets for workers. The study also recommends that employees in family businesses should communicate with each other effectively for a healthy relationship and managers should not make secret preparations for successors.
International Corporations globally are seeking ways of being ahead of other competitors in the industry of operations. Companies ranging from production to service firms in globally strive harder to meet the challenges posed to them by environmental changes. Also the consulting industry is an integral part of service industry due to the sum they contribute to the growth of the economy. The study tried to situate positions whether organizational learning could serve as a strategic tool for enhancing organizational performance as regards employee commitment and organizational competitiveness. 240 copies of questionnaire were administered to selected international audit service firms considered for the study in Nigeria to get primary data that treated appropriate research questions and hypotheses were tested accordingly. The study found that opportunity for individual learning makes employees in the global firms to be committed and that organizational conditioning has significant effect on competiveness. The study recommends that international service firms should endeavour to direct more resources to the area of organizational learning in order for them to be able to achieve better global industry relevance.
