Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to analyze the disaster communication patterns and behaviors of Twitter users. Flood disaster in the Jabodetabek area became an unexpected event in early 2020. The flood inundated 23 areas in Bekasi, two regions in Bogor, and 17 areas in Jakarta. Information about floods became a trending topic on the 1st of January 2020. Methodology: The method used is social network analysis and text analysis #Banjir2020 on Twitter, using Netlytic and Gephi. The sample analyzed 1000 tweets from 304 users and 670 edges. The data was selected from the 10th to 13th of January 2020. Netlytic.org limits that we can only retrieve tweets data from Twitter for less than 2 weeks due to API limitations. Main Findings: The result shows that #Banjir2020 disaster communication patterns on Twitter formed five significant clusters on its network. The communication occurred as one-way communication. A low level of network density showed that the quiet intensity of communication and slow information to be able to spread throughout vast networks. Every twitter user involved can directly provide information to others. Judging from the messages conveyed, the most formed behavior is the behavior of information dissemination regarding this flood. The next significant response is the defense of DKI Jakarta Governor. Implications of this study: The disaster communication behaviors on #Banjir2020 is dominated by flood disaster information in some areas. Communication patterns form vast networks but still lack in terms of intensity, two-way communication, and slow information to move throughout the system. Novelty/Originality of this study: The research of #banjir2020 through Twitter using the analysis of SNA and disaster communication behavior has never been done by other researchers.
Toko Xstyle.id adalah salah satu pelaku bisnis fashion yang berlokasi di wilayah DKI Jakarta dimana pada saat masa pandemi covid-19 mereka tetap bertahan. Dalam hal ini diperlukan strategi komunikasi yang dapat membantu dalam memasarkan produknya sehingga Toko Xstyle.id dapat bertahan ketika menghadapi masa sulit seperti pandemi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang digunakan ketika masa pandemi covid-19 dan melihat bagaimana pemanfaatan media sosial instagram sebagai media promosi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini melibatkan 1 (satu) orang sebagai key informan dan 3 (tiga) orang sebagai informan pendukung. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Teori Sistem dan Teori Bauran Promosi (Promotion Mix). Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa terdapat elemen-elemen strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh Toko Xstyle.id untuk memasarkan produknya seperti Teknik Redudancy, Canalizing, Informatif, Persuasif, dan Edukatif. Selain itu, pihak toko juga memanfaatkan dengan baik keberadaan sosial media Instagram untuk dijadikan sebagai media promosi berbagai macam produknya.
Sex, Sin and Marriage: Feminists in Patriarchal Culture, Religious Values and the Struggle for the Equality, is a study conducted on the novel Eks Parasit Lajang by Justina Ayu Utami. The approach of this research is qualitative with Critical Analysis of Frankfrut School method through four levels of analysis: Totality, Awareness, Alienation and Criticism. The results of this study show that in the level of totality, Ayu Utami sees the problems experienced by character A as a problem that not only comes from herself, but also from her family who embrace Patriarchal culture, religious values, and also the values come from the society. In the level of Awareness, Ayu Utami sees that the world is constructed by men, and marriage as a mean of legitimizing power (patriarchal); in the level of Alienation, Ayu Utami is alienated from the concept of the church which is considered problematic; about herself and her sexual organs; about the values of women and marriage, until she decides to "take off the Cross's necklace" and ends up "deciding not to have any religion". In the Criticism level, Ayu Utami criticizes her religion's "Holy Book", Patriarchal culture and also criticizes on the State regulations which she considers unfair especially in marriage arrangement as well as the society values which are considered confining and disadvantaging women, but not for men.
The purpose of this study is to analysis the role and trust toward World Health Organization (WHO) in managing Covid-19 pandemic, through social media twitter. This research is to compare the network and public trust on a three (3) different time period. This study employs social network analysis method and text analysis on @WHO twitter account. Researcher used Netlytic and Gephi Software to retrieve data on social media and to calculate network statistic. Data used is based on 3 different time period, they are, 27 February, 20 March, and 9 April 2020. More than 7500 node and 15.000 edges were collected for this research. The result of this study suggests that @WHO account network is very large, but is not fully utilized. The lack of information disclosed by WHO through their Twitter account and one-way communication, have resulted in many negative accusations toward WHO in managing the pandemic. The most frequent accusation directed is the inability of WHO and Dr. Tedros in managing Pandemic, WHO and China are collaborating in hiding the data on Pandemic, and accusation that the pandemic is a pretence and politic of China. WHO Twitter account has become public attention for seeking information on the Pandemic, however this organization has yet to carry out two-way communication on answering public question directed to them. This research sought to see the role and trust of WHO as an organization responsible in managing the Pandemic through social media twitter by comparing three result on a different time period and to analyse the content of the message directed towards WHO.
Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus pada anak remaja di perumahan sektor v Bekasi Utara, dengan tujuan mengetahui “Bagaimana Pola Komunikasi Orang Tua Dengan Anak Remaja Pengguna Smartphone Aktif Di Perumahan Sektor V Bekasi Utara. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dan untuk mendapatkan data, penulis melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada informan dan menggunakan informan sebanyak 5 keluarga yang terdiri dari 10 orang, yaitu 5 orang tua dan 5 anak remaja. Orang tua harus memilih pola komunikasi yang baik untuk digunakan saat berkomunikasi dengan anak remaja pengguna smartphone aktif seperti pola komunikasi demokratis, sehingga memunculkan keharmonisan yang akan membuat anak menjadi terbuka pada orang tua dan orang tua dapat mengarahkan anak mengenai dampak negatif dan positif dari penggunaan smartphone yang berlebihan. Hasil dari penelitian ini, terdapat dua pola komunikasi yang digunakan informan pada perumahan sektor v Bekasi Utara antara orang tua dengan anak, yaitu pola komunikasi demokratis dan pola komunikasi otoriter. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori atribusi yang dapat menjawab penyebab mengapa anak berperilaku baik, yaitu dengan adanya faktor eksternal dari penggunaan smartphone yang berlebihan dan tanpa pengawasan dari orang tua.
