We present the results of calculations of high-harmonic spectra at different mutual orientations of laser field and atomic angular momentum. The presented results show that the atomic current induced by the external laser field can include the longitudinal component orthogonal to the polarization vector of an incident field. Moreover, it provides an insight into the physics of processes which cause the polarization of generated harmonics. In addition, it hints at the way for the polarization control over high at harmonics.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
