Studies of the interconnectedness of culture and economy become in a particular importance in the context of economic shocks and turbulence. The problem of "path dependence" is raised as a subjection on the former economic development trajectory. Majority of the scientific researches devoted to socio-economic development and welfare of the country are based on theories of economic growth, democratization of the system, liberalization of the economic regime. However, the long-term statistics and its dynamics across the world negate the validity of prevailing theories. The importance of cultural and economic interconnectedness is emphasized in order ensure socio-economic progress and the successful development of the country.
This article is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of corporate governance systems in the realities of the modern economy. The role of large corporate structures in the world economy and politics is considered, the scale of activities of transnational corporations is shown. The characteristic of risks and problems of corporate governance at the present stage of the economy is given, the necessity of revision of scientific approaches to corporate governance taking into account the current changes in the activities of major corporations is formulated.
