Structure D 2000 X-Ray Powder Diffraction Studies and Bond-Valence Analysis of Hg2Sb2O7. -The title compound is prepared by heating a mixture of HgO and Sb 2 O 3 in the molar ratio of 2:1 under oxygen (450°C, 30 h) followed by annealing at 250°C for 14 d. Its cystal structure is determined by Rietveld refinement of powder XRD data. The compound crystallizes in the cubic space group Fd3m (pyrochlore structure type) with Z = 8.
