The concern with formation and teaching-learning methods of health professionals are important points to be considered by higher education institutions, since there is a need to constantly analyze the techniques and methodology used to form such professionals. In this way, this study aimed to analyze and reflect on the use of active methodologies, more specifically the methodology of the problematization based on the Arch of Maguerez, in the continuing training of health professionals, based on documentary analysis. Thus, methodology of the problematization based on the Arch of Maguerez as an active method in the continuing formation of health professionals develops in the subjects a reflexive, critical and beyond investigative, identification of the problem, instigating them also to the formation of a critical reasoning for the selection of the proposed solutions.
